3/28/22 - Brought in ** ******************* model 25-FS) to repair water leak in gray tank system.Metcalf informed me that the drain pipe into the gray water tank was cracked. They replaced all plumbing associated with gray tank, including vent pipe to the roof. Total repair was approximately $6840, including 40 hours of labor.7/28/22 - first trip with ** since repair. Experienced water leak again. Contacted Metcalf and ***** (owner) agreed to look at ** again.9/22/22 - ***** sends video of gray tank connection with no water leak. I explain that tank must be filled completely before leak occurs. He fills tank further and acknowledges leak, but says the connection to tank is still dry, so leak is elsewhere. He said the tank must have a crack in it, but that the repair they made was holding up fine.9/29/22 - Left message with *****, pleading to reconsider his stance, given the amount that I paid for the repair. I offered to purchase a new tank if he would cover the labor for replacing it. No response from ***********11/21/22 - I contacted ***** again, reminding him about my message. He called and asked for clarification, and I reiterated my proposal. He declined, but offered to do the labor at a reduced (unspecified) rate. He would have to get back to me with an estimate. He did not follow up. I then moved the ** into storage for the winter.5/15/22 - I took the ** to a different repair shop. They found that the gray tank had a hole punctured through the top, from a s**** that was driven through the flooring of the ** and had missed the intended cross member of the frame. In their professional opinion, this most likely occurred at time of manufacturing. They replaced the tank and necessary plumbing in less than 15 hours of labor.Based on these findings, I can only conclude that Metcalf did not remove and inspect the tank as they claimed, nor could they have tested the tank for leaks after their repair. I request a billing adjustment equivalent to 25 hours of labor.
