We experienced a gas leak in our building on May 18th of 2023 and we're all evacuated from the building for safety reasons and we stood outside for a few hours and then let back in. They shut the gas off for safety reasons also we went a few days without hot water to do dishes and shower and be not able to do laundry we have since then gotten hot water back but are still without the ability to do laundry and we can't afford to continue to use a laundromat and using whatever we can find to do for laundry is getting tiresome. We were told the company was going to fix it but nothing is never came of it they found them the problem but they haven't fixed it yet. The laundry room is locked. And found out later after it happend our landlord didn't want to have ** evacuate the building when the gas leak happened. It wasn't that bad of a issue. The issue is the pipes from the dryers.Business response

On May 18th the site manager smelled gas and so she contacted the gas company immediately and our maintenance staff and the site manager started knocking on doors to evacuate. The ************ fire department responded and shut the gas off to the building. The fire department thought the gas leak was in the wall behind the dryer and shut off the gas to the building. We contacted ASAP Heating/AC to come out immediately and look at pipes. We also informed all residents that gas was off and that they could use the facilities in the building next door or one of the other 2 buildings in close proximity. On May 18th ASAP Heating/AC did not find the leak and they came out again on May 19th and did not find the leak. Our maintenance staff decided to check the dryer itself and that is where the leak was found so both dryers were disconnected and gas to the building hot water was turned back on. On May 19th 2 new gas valves were ordered for both dryers. Parts were received on May 29th and we scheduled to have them installed on June 6. We then contacted the fire department to come out inspect and they approved the repair and all laundry rooms in 405 building were opened.
