Extremely unprofessional. Signed a 7 month contract for weekly lawn mow, fertilizer, spring and fall clean up, **** pruning. *** and his crew do 7 week lawn mow and 2 fertilizer application. I paid for first month. After 8 weeks of constant urging he does not do any other services. After 8 weeks my "spring clean" in end of June costs over $2000. He stopped replying to my calls and messages for over 2 weeks. I cancel my services on text, but he still manages to do the second fertilizer application. That all is unprofessional. Fraud is where he now thinks I owe him for his second month of services at the cost he chooses.

On June 9, 2021 ************ was hired to install a 140 square foot paver patio in an area attached to the front of our house to replace a garden area. We paid 1/2 down with the balance to be paid upon completion of the patio. There was a line of lawn sprinker heads alongside the driveway but outside of the garden area. These sprinklers were not marked but they were pointed out to the work crew when they arrived to start the job on Monday, Aug 16, 2021. The work crew were told that the patio was only to be positioned where the garden area was in the front of the house; and that the grass area between the garden and driveway was to stay intact. The crew worked on the patio installation for two consecutive days., Aug 16 & 17. After they left on the second day we noticed that there was a high area of the patio that seemed odd. The next day after completion of the patio a neighbor pointed out a washed out area under part of the patio pavers. There was a sprinkler head about 3-4 inches away. We turned on that irrigation zone and witnessed water spraying out from under the patio pavers but not from the sprinkler head. We called Cayering and told them to come out and fix the problem. We were told that they do not do irrigation system repair and would have to get another company to fix it and charge us. We then contacted our own person for Irrigation repair who came out the next day and fixed it. While fixing the problem we watched as he dug out the nonfunctioning head to find that it had been broken off and placed back into the ground as if it were a functioning head and it was located *****" away from its connection to the water line which was now covered over by patio pavers. This also meant that Cayering paved over an area that they were told to NOT pave. Cayering did NOT tell us about this event and it resulted in the erosion of about a 2 square foot area under the patio pavers when the irrigation system automatically turned on. The person who fixed the broken irrigation head/line also noticed the high area on the patio and went to get his levels and measuring tools. His level showed that the high area would cause any rain water in that area to flow toward the house foundation block instead of away from the house. Also that the entire patio sloped in two directions -to the ** toward the grassy *************** (which is where we wanted it to flow), and to the ** toward an existing retaining wall that supported the remaining garden area. The greatest slope was to the ** and is the direction that the high part of the patio would also dirvert water toward. (As of the writing of this review, we have already started to see erosion in the corner where the patio pavers, house foundation block and the retaining wall meet.). We immediately contacted Cayering about these problems. On Monday Aug 23, Cayering's owner *** and his son ***** (the work crew boss) came to look at the problems. They told us that the only way to fix the water flow to the ** was to put a small retaining wall between the patio and the garden area and that this would cost extra. We were not happy with this because we felt that since they are the professionals they should have known this when they looked at the site to give us a quote. We were quoted a price of an additional $350 ($500 -less $150 to cover the cost of the sprinkler system repair), ***** said he would deliver a contract for this additional cost for our signature on Wed, Aug 25. *** agreed that there were problems with water flow and that they would fix the problem. ***** said they could start repair work on the agreed to time of the morning of Wed Aug 25. At 11:30am on Wed they called to say that they could not come because of rain. The additional contract was not delivered either (nor was it ever delivered.) The next agreed to time for repair work was Mon Aug 30. They were a no-show and no phone call or message about the reason why. On Sunday Sept 5th at 3:30pm ***** phoned to say that they would do the repair work on **************** Sept 6 & 7. I pointed out that Monday was Labor Day - do they work on a holiday - he said yes. They were a no-show both days and no phone call or message about why. They did not answer their phone. All of these no-shows, no additional contract, no phone calls about why were a clear message to us that they had no intention of fixing their work. So, in frustration we left a phone message to *** that we wanted them to sign the contract accepting the 1/2 down payment as payment in full and we would find someone else to repair their work. On Wed Sept 8th *** came to our house and signed the original contract stating that it was paid in full due to unsatisfactory work and failure to fix the problems. Today Oct 4th we received a very angry phone call from *** threatening to *** us because of an unfavorable review posted about his company - he said our daughter posted it. At the end of the conversation he said that he had recorded the whole conversation (it is against the law to record a phone conversation with the consent of the parties being recorded.) Cayering Lawn Services LLC does not even deserve a one star rating but since there is no option for a zero star rating this is why they have one star. In +35 years of home ownership this is the only company we have ever had a problem with and it has been a nightmare for us.
