A safety curtain (light curtain) went down at our facility rendering the machine useless. The SICK tech. let us know that they do not rebuild their products but could refer us to a "plug and Play" substitute. We paid a large sum to have the product expedited (which we purchased through one of their distributors in **). The item arrived and was not compatible. We reached out to SICK directly. One representative mentioned they should have at least sent an adapter. Another mentioned the adapters were discontinued. While working with the distributors one of the techs from SICK told them we had ordered a new one and were all "set", which was a blatant lie. SICK's inability to address our immediate concerns due to lack of experience with their own product, as well as a direct lie with intention to divert any progress cost us an extra 2 weeks of down-time and an exorbitant amount of money.
