If you are a novice, DO NOT TRUST Eriks not to take advantage of you!They...1. Recommended a bike that was too small for the rider (at their own admission). A "small" sized bike frame for a 5'10" tall rider.2. Sold us a used bike that was damaged and did not operate properly due to frayed gear shift cables (at their own admission told us it should never have been placed out on the sales floor until it had been repaired). 3. When asked to have a kick stand added, they chose their more expensive kick stand which was too big causing it to horribly rub on the tire, and was also not properly tightened down by their maintenance team causing it to move around. (Which could have caused a serious accident.)4. Weeks of snow prevented us from testing the bike further to discover how uncomfortable it was to ride. Being past the 30 day return policy, we never attempted to argue for a refund, despite their many mistakes, including clearly selling us a bike they shouldn't have. Despite poor service we remained polite, friendly and understanding, explained the whole situation, only asking to utilize their trade-in program so we could trade it in for a new bike from them that fit the rider better. After telling us to bring the bike in (which was in identical condition to purchase), management told us there was nothing he could do and walked away with no explanation.5. To add to our poor experience in working with ****'s, we then took the bike to another place where we were told the gear shift cables were not even properly repaired.I will never shop at Eriks again, nor recommend them to anyone else. If you shop at Eriks, everyone is very friendly there. Just do not trust them to sell you a bike that is appropriate for you. Do not trust any repair work they do on your bike, including making sure things are properly fastened down. Do your own research! And for gods sake do not buy a used bike from them unless you are really knowledgeable and know what you are doing!Erik's Bike Shop Response

Horrible customer service!! Ordered a new bike online that had a handful of scratches in different areas and missing parts. Its a $2500+ bike (Same price as advertised on the Specialized website). They offered a $25 gift card and the missing parts would be sourced and sent to me. Kept telling me it was cosmetic and the bike was still functional. Somehow they think its acceptable to sell damaged products. This bike was clearly mistreated. I regret buying from this store. It was a horrible experience. I would have never purchased this bike in person without a discount. I would have been ok with a 10% discount. In my opinion 1% was a joke.Erik's Bike Shop Response

All of our bikes are located on the retail sales floor and are assembled, transported, disassembled for shipping, and eventually shipped to you, so minor cosmetic blemishes can occur. After reviewing the photos you provided, we have offered and you have accepted $25 for compensation for these minor cosmetic blemishes. The bike was already discounted $1000 from retail price so we are happy to see you took advantage of that great deal. Otherwise with any purchase at ****'S, you are eligible for a return within 30 days of purchase as long as that return meets the regular return criteria. When ordering on line BE SURE WHAT YOU ARE ORDERING IS THE CORRECT SIZE. The return policy here is HORRIBLE. I ordered a pair of snowboard boots and unfortunately they were too small. While offering to to refund me for the boots *************, ****'s made zero effort to reduce my shipping costs. I requested a prepaid label with the understanding they could reduce my refund to cover it and was uncategorically denied. All I got was a quote of their return policy. BAD business. Fitting ski's, bikes and snowboard boots isn't an exact science, if you want to do online business you really need to work with your customers. Purchased bikes for my grandkids at the Grafton location. Wanted to shop local and the sales person played up the Trade In policy. Perfect as they get bigger I can trade in bikes for larger bikes! One year later, I stop in to look at new bikes for Christmas (planning on the trade in) to be told they changed their policy and would not stand by their word or honor the purchase contract which specifies trade in availability. The sales associate was dismissive and did not think it is unethical. Congratulations you have lost a customer whom would have been loyal for new bikes for all my grandchildren for the next 18 years!!! Not only that they will be getting new snowboards this year from their parents but they will not be purchased at Eriks. Poor customer service. You purchased a new bike, the Specialized Hotrock 24 inch in pink, on 3/11/22 and that bike is eligible for trade-in store credit up to six years after purchase. You also purchased a used Specialized Riprock 16 inch in black, on 3/30/22 and that bike is not eligible as a trade-in as it was a used bike. I purchased a number of clothing items at Eriks Bike Shop - ************** - in August. They charged me for everything that day, including the two bike jerseys they were supposed to ship to me (my size was not in the *** store). As of today, the bike jersey still is not delivered - Ive called them MANY times - spoke to their general customer service line reps and also MANY times to employees at the *** store. Where do I begin..I have been riding for decades on a specialized crossroads sport since ****. Up to 1 month ago roughly, I was pretty happy with ERIKs bike shop, however I purchased a new seat and post about 2 years ago as my original was in poor shape so ERIKs installed it. No problem for a couple years. Approximately 30 days ago the seat post clamp bolt severed and I instantly collapsed onto the rear tire yanking the handlebars from me and wiped out doing about 15mph. The accident had me in the ** for a day. I also still have remnants of a large hematoma that bled for 8 hours into the night internally. Well, I contacted specialized and it came down to the seat post being made by a company overseas which was unbeknownst to me. Specialized did nothing. Contacted ERIKs corporate and they denied any reponsibility at all for selling defective equipment. Not good. Well, I am now trying to deal with the company based overseas and I doubt that will go well, but will not mention them for the time being. But it does not end there. Trying to stay with specialized so bought a ROLL 3 to replace my aged bike and since the purchase, my chain has come off 5 times, brought it into ERIKs maple grove yesterday and the service manager seemed to have it fixed and was genuinely concerned, even fixing the wobbly loose front tire that *** have come off if I hit a big bump. Richfield ERIKs supposedly prepped the bike when I bought it a week and a half ago for delivery and I drove down there to pick it up. Well I went for a ride today and the chain came off again nearly causing me to wipe out AGAIN. Very frustrated and dissapointed with ERIKs and specialized now. I believe a return is in order, and will probably head for a different company. Really sad that folks do not stand behind the products they sell.Erik's Bike Shop Response

Zero stars. We have purchased from ****'s a few times - MTB equipment and then a snowboard in December for a Christmas gift. The board wasn't the exact one my boyfriend wanted so I went on my orders and attempted to start a return....well I was 2 days out from my original purchase date and a return wasn't an option. So I chatted into ****'s and basically the short answer was a resounding NO. I mentioned that a lot of companies allowed for extra days for holiday gifts and they were adamant about the no return. I sat with that for a few days and thought surely they would allow an exchange.. we would buy something else from them. The response I received was "no return, no exchange and that I should sell the board privately, someone will buy it". We reached out again for a supervisor and even talked to the guys that said they were in charge and that again "their hands are tied and there is nothing that can be done". Insane to think that this company cant afford to refund someone $350 - or allow an exchange for other items. The business practices and model of this company are why they will eventually go out of business...coupled with the consistent negative reviews.Erik's Bike Shop Response

Ordered Garmin Tacx ************ Trainer from their website. Received a display model damaged in a box that was taped heavily. Very deceiving practice, advertising brand new sealed product on the website but shipping display model broken in a box. Shame on your ****! I was skeptical at first due to the price being the cheapest of all websites, but was satisfied in the end. Shipping was quick and smooth. Best part was they include a how to on the assembly which was simple due to the fact they assembled 95% of the bike. Would recommend 10/10Erik's Bike Shop Response
