Back in May of 2022 we had some roof damage and we have contacted several company to give us an estimate on our roof and decided to go with Chando because the representative **** explained everything to ** in detailed and help ** out through this process. He basically held our hand and negotiate with the insurance to help cover most of the cost. The first payment that we got was for $3000 which was later made out to chando by **. We later found out that **** will no longer be with the company due to him going back to school and later was working with *****. ***** was negotiating with the insurance for more money. ** the mean time ***** put a temporary patch on the hole that we had from the hail storm. The second payment that was sent from our insurance was for the amount of $13,000 in sept 2022 and we later wrote out the check to Chando in that month. In order for ** to cover for the remaining amount we had to finance thru one of their financing company which was high recommend by ***** the manager. Once we were in the clear with the financing company we knew that if we didn't pay for the roof right away we might end up using the money on something else and we weren't going to have that money to pay for it. I was in contacted with ***** and ***** for a while and that's when we decided to go ahead and pay another $5000 to cover for the remaining of the balance. In October that was when we wrote out the last check to chando in hopes that we will get it fix that year. ***** told me that he is still negotiating with the insurance company to have them pay for the decking and hopefully we will hear back from them soon. Come Nov 2022 that's when the insurance company finally answered and said that they were going to cover for the decking but by that time it was too cold. We were told by ***** that we will be one of the first one to get their roof fix. Fast forwarded to march when we had all the heavy rain and my roof started to leaking again. The temporary patch they put back in July 2022 didn't hold I called and I texted ***** and to my surprise he is no longer with the company. He did give me some numbers to call but mean while I also texted ***** and he was also no longer with the company too. I started calling all the numbers that was provided for me from ***** and was finally in touch with ****. He called the office to have someone call me back. **** the reception called and had someone come out to put the temporary patch back on in march bc they couldn't do any replacement due to the weather. April 3rd 2023 I tried calling the office phone leaving voicemail on the status of getting my roof replace. I called every day after leaving voicemails in hope to hear good news. On April 5 th 2023 I reached out to **** and that's when I heard the bad news.

On 10/04/22 we signed a contract with Chando construction for new roofing and decking. When signing the contract we paid $11,934 in ACV and $1000 deductible. Since the contract was signed we have not heard any updates from Chando. We received one call from a new rep assigned and he had no idea what was happening or if our materials had even been ordered. When we signed the contract we were told the materials we ordered but in back order. We have since learned that their license was revoked 04/01/22. We desperately, need our roof repaired and are not able to successfully contact anyone at Chando. We would like our full payment refunded. How can a contractor continue to sign contracts knowing they had a revoked license?

we had hail damage to our home on 5-11-22. we contacted Chando the same day. On 7-7-22 we paid $19476.41 to Chando for our roof repairs. In working with my insurance company and Chando during tose 2 months, Chando was trying to get more money from the insurance than needed and my insurance company would not approve, even reaching out to me asking if certain things were needed. this required me to take time away from my job to deal with the issues. which caused the delays on getting the insurance payment. after the payment was made we were informed the work would start but the end of august. there were no communications from the time of payment to the end of August. i reached out to Chando for updates all through September and into October with responses stating "its on order it will only be a couple more weeks". in November i started asking for PO numbers from the company they ordered from which were never provided and come to find out my supplies were never ordered. since November i have reached out multiple times a week via phone calls(leaving VM), Text message and email, with no responses since November. i am requesting my payment of $19476.41 be returned to me. my insurance agent has also reached out to Chando during this time with no responses. i have also reached out to my neighbor who also hired Chando for his repairs, and he is in the same situation we are dealing with them.in summary, i just need my payment of $19476.41 returned to me.

My husband contacted a construction company, a adjuster, to come look at storm damage that occurred to our home in May 2022. He took pictures and said he would submit. I waited. My insurance company wanted it done a specific way. About 10 pics at a time. He sent a link. We both asked the sales rep to resend. He said he would after I explained the way the insurance company wants it. Didn't happen. I retrieved the link of pics and I sent them in individual which was very tedious. Then I asked for a estimate for repairs. ***** rep said he would do it and I waited. Nothing happened. I found out he told my insurance company it was their job. Then I put a review that Chando is ignoring me after I called and emailed many times with no answer or call back. No communication. Then a different sales rep comes out of the blue says he's taking over. I was glad. I felt like they would come through. I said I just want an estimate of repairs now because that's what my insurance company asks for and he said ok and he looked at the house again also. I give him time since both sales reps say they are really busy, but nothing happened. They continue to ignore. I'm just trying to get through the claims process and I'm at the end of the year and it's incomplete. Very disappointed. They say they will do things and they do not. They do not finish what they start. They say they are too busy. They have very poor communication. They don't follow through with what is wanted by the customer or the insurance company. All I want is a estimate of repair if storm damage to my home. Too much to ask it seems. I watched every home on my block get their house repaired and I can't even get through a claims process.

I signed a contract and gave Chando Construction a $35,000 deposit on 5/19/2022 for a kitchen and bath remodel. We made our selections for flooring, tile, and countertops at ************** on 4/29/2022. Chando verbally agreed to start the project in August of 2022 and nothing has been done to date. On 10/28/2022, it came to my attention that Chando still hadn't paid ******************* for our custom cabinets after multiple requests by me (10/5, 10/17, 10/28) and the cabinet makers (10/6, 10/20). After waiting on one final promise for them to pay for the cabinets on 10/31/2022, I finally paid ******************* directly on 11/1/2022. On 10/28/2022, I was informed by the project manager at Chando that selections for flooring and tile were on back order, but in truth B&B Carpet One discontinued doing business with Chando. Therefore, the selections made on 4/29/2022 for flooring, tile, and countertops prior to the contract signing on 5/19/2022 can no longer be provided for by Chando. On 11/1/2022, I sent a certified letter to Chando notifying them of my desire to terminate the contract due to non-performance and a failure to provide agree-upon materials. I also asked for a refund of my down payment. No one has reached out to me regarding my request.

We hired Chando Construction in October of 2020 to handle our hail/wind damage to our house. We are now almost 2 years since we signed up to have Chando work on roof, windows, garage door, front entry door, and other item such as down sprouts. All approved through our homeowners insurance with Chando pricing. Chando has had turnover with seasonal reps, but their local representation. The roof has been completed months ago but there is no communication regarding rest of project. We paid $21,419 in October 2020. We provided them a 40K check since they did complete the roof and needed check so they can orders windows and other materials. We have zero communication regarding the status of the project as 40K check was cashed in early April, 2022. We also found out the windows have never been ordered so our fear is they wanted the 40K for other reasons such as payroll for employees. This is unacceptable as we need to move forward with another liaison to finish our project. To make matters worse, this is the last thing we need on our plate as we are dealing with a horrific tragedy with our son. Our son was a victim of a hazing incident at ********************** back in October, 2021. We finally got him with our son on May 25th. There was very little communication between Chando and myself during this time period. They did reach out to say they will complete the roof, which they did. We are dealing with this tragedy and do not want challenges over an dbeyong my son's accident. Nobody can tell us anything about anything with our project and our fears are probably true regarding the 40K. Send money and you don't have communication back on the project. I was very hesitant to to provide 40K but they told us no windows will be ordered unless we have another deposit. To date, the windows have not been ordered according to other sources so we are lied to. All we want is the 40K back ASAP so we can move on and put closure to the project with a reliable source(which I have).

******** understands materials taking longer than usual.    We absolutely were never not in contact. We believe and understand they are just trying to speed up a situation that was out of our control.   It's frustrating to everyone involved so we empathize with their situation and understand where they were coming from.

We contracted Chando to build a 3-season porch onto our existing house in October 2021. As a down payment we issued a check to them for $25,000. The salesperson told us that he thought the project could be completed by Feb 1st, 2022. There was a major delay in the ordering of the windows. It was near 5 months before the windows arrived. We believe the wrong sized windows were ordered initially because we discovered the drawings were not accurate. The framing contractor told us that wrong sized windows were ordered initially. Chando did not admit this error. Since then we have have a myriad of excuses and further delays ranging from sick workers unable to show up to promises of completion of certain parts of the project that never happened. At this point we still have all of the interior finish work that has not even started. Phone calls to the owner are ignored, texts to the 'project manager' result in no progress, more excuses and no workers showing up. This project should have been completed months ago and it is a long way from that at this point.

       Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I would only add that we hope their standing with the BBB is affected by this project that took many months more than originally anticipated and was not completed in accordance with the original drawings.

On October 14, 2021 and October 26, 2021 my wife ********************************* and Chando Construction signed a contract for the removal and replacement of 19 windows for our Farm Manager and his family's home which included all material, labor and taxes, permits etc . The price for the project is $18,650 and we paid one-half down and to date NOTHING has been done. For awhile they would at least have some communication with us, and they even came out on what I believe was a pretense to measure all of the windows again, even though they had already done that before the contract was signed, but now they will not even return our phone calls. The windows are in very bad repair and some only had plastic on them and therefore you can imagine the heating bills for my farm managers family and us with the winter we had. I know that materials are not as easily available as was the case in the past but now after 5months there should have been more than enough time to procure the windows IF they had ordered them back in October. Maybe it is just a coincidence; but the company stopped answering our calls as soon as I asked them to provide me verification as to when they ordered the windows. Thank you

      Received Business Response

Company has been experiencing supply chains issues and delays, not unlike every trade industry. Once the windows are delivered we will install them. Unfortunately we do not have any control over the vendors or manufacturers. We have been in contact with the customer and will continue to do so.

We apologize for all the delays they are experiencing.

I am rejecting this response because:

The company "supposedly" had ordered the windows back in October when we paid them one-half of the contract price; that is approximately 6 months ago. When we inquired and asked for proof of their order of the windows, they grew silent and now for over one month since said inquiry, they will not correspond with us at all. We have called the company and written to the company numerous times and to numerous employees/principans and they refuse to correspond with us or show the proof we requested. We appreciate building supplies are not as readily available as in the past; however, we have talked with other contractors and they explain that 6 months is more than the extreme for the reciept of windows IF the windows were properly ordered when the contract was signed and certainly updates and responses to a cuntomer should be current.
