My son who is in college at *********************** had a issue with his car not starting. I live 5 hours away from where he goes to school so could not fix his car myself. He called AAA and they towed his car to a near by repair shop "Bobby and *****'s Auto World". The repair shop called in the morning stating that the battery needed to be replaced. The entire bill including diagnosis would be ~$1000. I immediately knew I was being scammed. I told them their price was outrageous. I paid the Diagnostic charge of $200.00 stating it needed a new battery. I called a mobile Mechanic to come Bobby and Steves parking lot to replace the battery for $250 including the new battery. Once the mobile mechanic and my son was onsite at Bobby and *****'s the Manager called the police and said they were trespassing and would not allow the mechanic to replace the battery. My son and mobile mechanic pushed the car to the street and proceeded to replace the battery. Once the battery was replaced the car again would not turn over and start. The mobile Mechanic used his special tool and determined that the voltage was getting to the starter but nothing was coming out of the starter. The mobile mechanic replaced the starter and the car started fine. I called Bobby and *****'s letting them know their diagnosis that I payed $200 for was wrong. I request my money back. Bobby and *****'s laugh over the phone and said that it was my issue not theirs. I have now disputed the charge with my credit card company. Please do not do business with Bobby and *****'s!! They are not good people and do not deserve to be in business.Bobby & Steve's Auto World, Mpls Response

This issue has been resolved. Our technician properly diagnosed the vehicle however our service advisor did not properly explain all of the issues with the car. Therefore we have credited the customer the full amount of the diagnostic charge.Review from Meyer B

Hello. I'm still shaken by an event this evening. I bought a vehicle in disrepair with the intention to repair it and donate it to my church. I had my assistant **** call and arrange for the tow. He did. He told the particulars to the dispatch. (If you record them you will hear this)When the tow driver arrived he was angry and very rude as reported by my employee ****. When **** told the driver we wanted the vehicle dropped in our parking lot accessable via the ally behind our property he began screaming at him "fuck that I'm not doing that" and "you needed to tell dispatch that". **** said he did and the driver went to his truck to call dispatch and then returned and loaded the vehicle. When he was loading **** explained there was plenty of room to maneuver he agreed to move forward and continued to load the vehicle. I met them at the drop address. When I arrived the driver was backing into the parking lot and parked where he was going to unload the vehicle. He exited the tow truck to check for clearance and I asked him if he might be able to drop it at a different angle. He started screaming at me and returned to the vehicle screaming "fuck it I'm impounding it" I yelled no your not, he turned and said "fuck you watch me". At that point I just said please just drop it as it is and go. He told me to f*** off. So I drove around and parked my truck in front of the tow truck and called 911. I also called your dispatch and the gentlemen that answered the phone said to me that it's our fault for not telling the dispatch about the ally. My employee says he did. He did. And the driver knew also. At that point another tow truck arrived and the driver was much more pleasant. He asked me what I wanted to do and I said please just drop the vehicle, let me pay you, throw a $20.00 tip on the **** for the angry driver and let's call it a night. He took my debit card and got into the tow truck with my vehicle on it. He assured me that he would drop the vehicle and charge me so we could all go home. At that point the police arrived. As the angry driver was approaching the police car he called me a f****** f***** I'm a gay male, and am completely offended by that as well as shocked that a company such as yours would employ, stand behind or defend his behavior. I told them exactly how it happened. They spoke with the tow driver. And they returned, handed my card to me and said this is a civil matter. And left!. The tow driver then pulled out and took my vehicle to impound. UNBELIEVABLE. At this point the expense of this along with the projected costs of fixing the vehicle make it very unlikely that I will donate it. Very unfortunate. I was simply trying to be of service to my fellows and then this encounter happened. If anything that driver needs mental health counseling. I'd drug test him too. I ordered a tow. Car is loaded and at the delivery address. I asked if he could reposition the car? Simple question. He could have POLITELY said no. Instead he became volatile and basically retaliated against me for NO reason. Always used your service in the past for all my towing needs. Trusted I'd get great service. This was unbelievably horrible. I hope you will review the footage from start to finish and make a determination. I was simply a paying customer looking to support your business and this is what is I got. We have cameras that show video but no audio. Mr ****** started this interaction with my Tow driver saying " I'm paying for the service, so you will F******** do whatever i tell you to do. My driver said this is not a professional way to treat someone, he (my driver) is a human being first before a tow driver. Next, Mr ******, jumped into his truck and blocked my driver into the ally and my driver had no where to go. Bsaw Dispatcher ************************* called the police at the request of my driver and when the police arrived on scene (police report) Mr ****** was advised to move his vehicle as he was guilty of "false imprisionment" of my driver. Mr ****** refused to move until the police told him it was a civil matter and we were in the right to do as we see fit in the situation. As it had become hostile by both parties, my driver did as he was trained, remove himself from the situation and impound the vehicle. The next morning, the car was dropped at Mr ******'s address at no charge by my Tow Leader.Customer Response

The tow truck driver was rude and disrespectful when he picked up the vehicle before I and him arrived at the drop destination. Your response leaves out ALOT of why this incident escalated. Your tow truck driver called me a ******* ******. And I was charged for the tow $149.00.If your going to tell the story, tell all of it. I also find it concerning and dishonest of you to admit there was no audio recording and then you fabricate what I said??? I'm grateful you realized delivering my vehicle AND charging me was the right thing to do. But defending your driver's horrible behavior is unforgivable.
