I have had a City & County Credit Union credit card for years. Recently, I received a statement with a $5.40 charge that was not mine. I promptly called their customer service number and dispute it which opened a fraud case. At that time, they cancelled that card and opened a new credit card account for me. I thought it was settled until a few days ago when I received an updated statement showing the same charge along with a late fee and interest. I again called their customer service line and was told that I am responsible for paying the charge even though it is being investigated as a fraud. Luckily it is only a small amount. So to preserve my credit rating, I am going to pay a charge along with a late fee and interest for a transaction that is not mine and was promptly disputed. I did receive a new credit card in the mail, which i cut up and I will be going to one of their offices soon to close out my membership account as I want nothing to do with City and County Credit Union. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ONE OF THEIR CREDIT CARDS UNLESS YOU DO NOT MIND HAVING TO PAY FOR A CHARGE THAT YOU TIMELY DISPUTED WHILE IT IS BEING INVESTIGATED. I don't know if that is even legal.

      Hi *******,

We are so incredibly sorry to hear about the recent frustrations youve experienced with your credit card. As of today, the charge was reversed from your account. Fraudulent transactions can take up to two billing cycles to resolve as our team completes the investigation process. During the investigation process, we will not report the non-payment to credit bureaus nor do you need to make a payment per the Truth-In-Lending regulations. We take our members feedback seriously - if you have any additional concerns or questions, please send us an email at ***************.

      Thank you,
      City & County Credit Union

People really need to avoid CCCU. Their customer service staff is so robotic and not empowered to fix even the smallest of issues.I have a CCCU credit card I haven't used in maybe a year. I paid it off about a year ago but keep it as a backup card. Sometime last fall, apparently, a $16 charge was made by someone other than me. Because I don't use the card I don't find myself looking at the online account just in case someone made a $16 charge.Their robots refuse to help. It's "past the 60 days to report it". It's flipping $16 people, and now two months of late fees that are showing up on my perfect credit report. In my world, where I've employed numbers of customer service staff, they are empowered to "fix the problem", "take care of the customer", especially when it's clearly not just some random "they won't pay" situation. But no, CCCU hired robots without any discretion, who for $16 is willing to anger and throw away someone who's paid them thousands in fees and an auto loan.Is it worth it, CCCU?

We value you as a member of City & County Credit Union. Your concerns have been reviewed and listened to.

An email was received through our online banking contact function when the credit union opened the morning of January 24, **** at 7:00 am.  This was the first notification of the situation. The issue was escalated and at 9:37 am the same day it was documented that the determination to credit the account had been made.

Based on the regulations, consumers do only have 60 days from the date of the statement to dispute transactions made via credit card.  This notification was outside that timeframe so the answer that was provided was accurate, however, is not what was most beneficial for you, our member.

As of the time of this response, the late fee and charge have been removed from your account. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Customer Service is terrible! I took out a loan with them for car, sent my insurance info to them 3x. They charged me $3,777.00 for 6 months of coverage because they did not add my current insurance. Had to sit on the phone with them for hours to find out what had even happened and why I was charged. Now in the process of fighting for them to credit back their mistake. I was transferred to 6 different reps trying to square this away, including ***************************, her boss being the ** ********************* - she was rude and snotty. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THIS PLACE!!! The customer service is absolutely disrespectful.
