I hired Al to replace three bathroom floors with LVT. He did a fast job, which I appreciated as the house was being readied for a renter. When he was done the floors looked strange. I spoke to ******* offered to add three-quarter rounds. I agreed. Then I spoke to the rental manager I'm using. They thought the floors would have a negative impact on my ability to rent. I contacted several other flooring contractors who agreed there were several problems. I called Al & cancelled the three-quarter rounds.This is what I learned:I knew that one had to use spacers on the edges of LVT because they float. I didnt know that you cant use caulk because it doesnt expand. If caulking is necessary it must be silicon because silicon will expand & shrink. He used regular caulk.One can use painters tape to keep the caulk line even & attractive.The toilets must be removed, the *** laid down & the toilet replaced. Otherwise, the toilet sweats - or worse! - any liquid will collect under the laminate & will rot the under floor.The surbases must be removed & the tile laid down, then the surbases replaced.One cant use quarter rounds with ***; base-shoe moldings are needed. Theyre a different size & cover the spacing needed for the tiles to expand.The pattern of the tile doesnt match within the same bathroom. There is a tile in the master bath which is not clicked in on all sides.I hired a contractor to do all he could without totally redoing the job. I need to have all the tiles removed & replaced in the near future.I asked Al for a partial *********** refused.I filed a complaint with the BBB. They contacted him twice & he did not respond.Additionally, it looks like he charged me about twice of what would have been usual, and I agreed.I suspect if I had known more & could have supervised him, all would have been well.I believe he took advantage of my stupidity, didnt know how to install *********** bother to find out. Careful.

*****, we are truly sorry for your experience. We always try to do a good job communicating with our customers every step in each process we will take during a project. We have documentation that you called our company in November of 2021 to get a quote for installing snap together flooring. They gave you two quotes, one quote: 1. was for taking up the old floor, taking off baseboards, leveling off the floors in each bathroom, replacing rotten, molded, wood along the wall, lifting all toilets and replacing all wax rings while moving toilets to install snap together flooring. You told our team that this property was a rental, and you don't want to put much money in it. At that point, our team gave you a cheaper quote option. Quote 2. No leveling out the floor, no taking out the old floor, no taking up the toilets, just cut flooring around toilet, Install new flooring on top of old flooring, no repairing the mold rotten wood along the wall, no taking off baseboards, only install flooring and transition. We have a signed estimate you approved, that you only want the second option, because its a rental property and you didn't want to spend much money on it.You saw our team working on the unit and you was very pleased with our work, was what you told our team after and during the completion of your project.6 months later you say another guy told you we did it wrong, then you say we over charged you, I disagree, we gave you two quotes, you chose the cheaper option. We gave you the cheaper option. We have no records of you trying to contact our company about any issues with your project, you are the first customer out of hundreds of customers we have served throughout the metro to make false claims against our small family owned company,Then 6 months later you go on the BBB and give a bad review of the services the guys provided you. We would rather a customer contact us if there is any concerns even if those concerns come 6months later.Again, we are truly sorry for your experience.

Thank you for your response.The work was done in early December. On January 17th I wrote you with my concerns in an email similar to the review above. You responded with the following:Hello *****,You called us for a service, we told you what we would charge and you accept. We told you that you need to replace the quarter round and you refused. We told you that we was not lifting up your toilet instead we would go around them and you excepted. Now you have a number of people in your ear saying would have, could have, should have. Like I told you before you should have not used our company if didn't like our process.We will not be giving any refunds because we did do the work we have the proof. If you slander our name in an attempt to make us lose business. We will *** you for lost revenue and for attorney fees. Bring it on.....As with any professional, I relied on your **************************** That reliance was ill-placed. I wish you well, *** You seemed like a nice guy. I do not think you knew how to install LVT flooring. I wish you had told me that & I wish you had learned before attempting the install.
