Towards the midpoint of January 2023, the business representative my mother and I worked with, ****, allowed us to put a $500 USD hold payment on a 2017 ****** Legacy, which he verbally stated would be refundable. No written agreements or contracts were signed. About a week or week and a half later, we came down once more to ******** with a loan preapproved, but I wanted to test drive the vehicle once more. I wasn't a big fan of it and left the building to think on it more over lunch. Afterwards, I decided that I no longer wanted the vehicle, and texted **** accordingly, of which I had no response. It was a Friday so I figured I'd wait until Monday to get the refund settled, but upon messaging him Monday, he explained to me that he had to turn away a customer that had cash in hand to buy the car because of my hold payment, and now he had no one to purchase the vehicle. He claimed that the payment was refundable in three business days, which had never been agreed upon. On another note, when we had been at the dealership that Friday, he spoke as if we were going to purchase that day, which we knew we were not. It was simply another day of test driving to assure ourselves the vehicle was for us. When we conveyed that to him, he was very put off and was visibly frustrated.Initial Complaint

Purchased car 04/2021 from dealership. Was not able to register car dmv showed loan on car even though I had title. Dealer didnt pay off loan and give me paper releasing loan until 12/2021. Transmission went out within 30 days. Was promised to have other issues fix that Never was. I also found another buyer who had transmission go out in their car within a month. Owner of dealership ******* is intentionally selling cars with issues and offering to fix for half the price. He has done nothing to make anything right.Business response

our cars are sold as is. ******************************* had purchased a vehicle from us and about a full year later she reached out with a picture of the vehicle showing a puddle of transmission fluid under the vehicle. Even though the vehicle was sold as is I was willing to help her with the repair cost but she didn't seem to be interested in my help.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.he is lying. I have not had the car even one year I purchased it April 2021. I sent pics of the transmission fluid and car not driving or reversing December 2021. I was legally unable to register the car or drive it because there was no lien release given until 12/13/21 which I have proof of all this in details! He is not to be trusted to repair a car he sold damaged its all a scam. He sells cars with issues and offers to fix for half price. He lied about several things he promised to fix over and over but doesnt. I felt unsafe being around him he also blocked me without keeping his word of the thing she was to fix. He takes advantage of woman. He has been reported by other single moms as myself to our local news whistleblower. I found others in my same situation with posts I made on *********
