My dad paid ***************************** with G&M Tree Service to remove a tree at my grandparents home in ********. Shortly after my dad died in a car accident. I called *** to schedule the tree removal - told him who I was and that my father had died. He said that since the person that requested and paid was dead he didn't have to remove the tree. I was stunned and didn't know what to say. I called back a few days later, after I gathered my bearings, and he hung up on me. This was years ago and dealing with my dad's death was more important than ***. Then I moved on with life and forgot about it. Today a friend was talking about tree trimming and this memory resurfaced. I figured I'd better report it because I see this man is still in business.

      Business response

      Hello,

In response to this womans complaint goes as such:

*** and his crew had went there and trimmed her entire yard and did more then what was asked of him. As to how much work was being done. The son kept adding work. *** has a schedule to keep and he trimmed, cleaned up mess, removed debris in the proper way. As he was leaving the property owner asked if he would be back in the area at all. He said yes, if the association would be calling him. He also has another customer in area. *** did not receive any calls from the association or the neighbors. So in turn this customer that has filed this complaint has twisted the words that *** had said. He said he would do a touch up which means, 15 minutes in a yard . The customer did not do any maintenance to the yard all year and expected *** to come into their yard, mind you for free. Because *** stated that Id he was in neighborhood he would stop in a do a touch up. She called the house several times. Past the level of harassment. Trying to twist and manipulate the conversation. So in turn , she did not get her way to get free services in her yard . She goes to a level of desperation and lies to receive work for nothing. *** told her he would not go into her yard and do what they expected from him because they were deceitful about what the expectations were from them. This customer has not done any maintenance or care for their yard that they are concerned about themselves at all.

      Sincerely,

      ******* Gosiak

      Customer response

      12/19/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

I received a response from a ******* Gosiak that makes no sense.  Im going to make the generous assumption that she simply has me mixed up with another customer.

******* said they came and trimmed the entire yard and did more then what was asked of him.  She states they "trimmed, cleaned up a mess, removed debris" none of that happened.

No person from the company ever showed yp.  I never met *** in person nor any of his workers.  He just spoke to me on the phone and said that since the person that ordered and paid for the tree to be trimmed was dead that the contract was broken and that he didnt have to do it.  The contract was with my dad and not me nor my mother so he kept our money and never came to the property.

In Rebeccas response she states that the son kept asking for more.  There is no male.  My dad was dead.  It was just me (a girl) and my elderly mother.  No men anywhere.

In summary.  No one ever came from their company to our property.  No trimming of any item was ever done.  No son asking for more work.

Maybe theyve had so many problems with so many customers they are getting mixed up?

My original complaint still stands.   They were paid to trim a tree.  They didnt show up nor refund the money.

I want others to be warned about their business practices.

      Thank you.

      *****

We hired *** to trim the trees and shrubs in our backyard on May 24. He quoted us $1,000, explaining that it would take his team around 4 hours to do the job properly. He was hours later, but when he arrived around 4 or 5 pm, he explained that he was at a bigger job that required hours of time. But the problems didn't end there. His guys came in to do the job. What he quoted us--4 hours--became 45 minutes. They did not finish the job. Bushes were still touching the side of our house and they left cut-up shrubbery around our yard, without picking it up. When he finished, he demanded a check before we could even look at the job. We decided to look around the place, realizing that the job was left incomplete. It's not like we have the biggest yard, so we expected a comprehensive job. Again, it was a job that he said would take four hours, so some red flags went off for us when he arrived close to dinner time! When we showed him the spots, he admitted that his guys were in a rush and that he didn't supervise them. We wrote him a check, but on the condition that he comes back in the next two weeks to clean up problems with the yard. He agreed, promising that he would take care of it in a timely fashion. He did not show up for two months. We called around every two weeks, hoping that he would have the time to come in and do the work he promised to do. He did not. We employed his services originally in May, and he didn't show up until August. By then, much of what he trimmed had grown, making it a bigger job. He walked off the job again and didnt finish it.We paid him on the condition that he finish the job. He promised to do so, and only then did we pay him. Because he never finished the job, and in fact walked away when he saw what he had not done the first time around, he breached the contract we had made.
