Ben and his crew did a great job on our deck project! great communication and on time completion.

I gave Ben H my deposit in January for a job he had bid. He told me they would be on the job in late March early April. His guy showed up in April and said he would probably be out the next week to start the job. Nobody showed up after that and in spite of calling Ben 4 times, I had no return calls. My yard was then marked for powerlines and such on May 22nd as requested by Hoyer construction. Those markings expired on June 5 and I called Hoyer and left my fifth message and still no response. I then drove to Hoyer construction on June 6th to see where we were at with the project. Ben gave me my deposit back and said his guy that stopped in early April had informed him that the job could not be done for the bid Ben himself had put in. Why would you have Not refunded me my money then instead of waiting? Why would you have my yard marked on May 22nd If you had no intention of doing the job? Why would you not call a paying customer and let them know all of this? My only conclusion is that they are very deceitful and untrustworthy.

In Aug, 2021 a tree fell onto our house, causing extensive damage. We moved out in Sept, 2021.(Due to the character limit, my full review is on ******* Hoyer:* agreed to remove all personal belongings, but began demolition with belongings present. * piled debris in bed and dirty tools on clothes.* wouldn't say which moving company was finally used.* didn't provide an accurate inventory. Moving company misplaced many items since Hoyer provided only a few photos of one room.* damaged things inside house.* never filed building permits with city.* removed whole sections of walls and ceilings not approved for replacement. * failed to protect floors not approved for replacement. Let rubble fall directly onto floor, then used metal shovel to scoop it up.* When confronted, said they would get a new crew. We talked with a new crew member who said they hadn't been told the plan by Hoyer.* forbid us to talk to crew and claimed we weren't allowed onto our own property (despite having already told us the opposite).* We decided to terminate our agreement with Hoyer. We asked them to be off our property by 5pm. Around 5:15pm, the entire crew, the salesman, and the company owner were all still there working against our wishes. * The salesman made several false accusations, claiming we told Hoyer to delay our project and we told the crew to damage parts of the house. He later called our insurance company and told them we were being fraudulent.* They finally gave us the name of the moving company, agreed to come back and patch up part of the new roof that broke, and to provide a written summary of the project items they had and hadn't completed. It's been 6 months and they haven't reached out to patch the roof within the timeframes they specified, and have failed to provide a detailed written summary of what they did - also failing to return a substantial amount of overpayment from our insurance company. Our experience with Hoyer Construction has been horrible.
