I am requesting a refund from BRAG, they are a dog rescue group in ******, **. I fostered the dog for 2 weeks, picked the dog up on 7/18/2021 and on 8/1/2021, I received an invoice through PayPal from BRAG, stating the **** is for an adoption fee in the amount of $350.00. I paid this on 8/2/2021, which came out of my checking account on 8/3/2021. I noticed the dog having a lot of health issues ever since I had him, I called the vet multiple times and talked with the rescue group multiple times. The dog had colitis, worms and then was diagnosed with cancer. I noticed a lot of growths or tumors on the dog since having him for only 3 weeks. (2 weeks ****** & 1 week adopted) At his neuter appt, the vet took a biopsy of the growths and confirmed it was cancer. I gave the dog back to the rescue group on 8/12/2021. According to the contract, if the dog is returned within 14 days of adoption, I will be refunded. It is now 8/23/2021, and no response or refund from BRAG.Business response

We did issue a refund of the appropriate amount via paypal. I did want to remind ********* that we are all volunteers and are doing our best with getting emails responded to within a day. With that being said I believe that it was hurried on her end with filing the BBB complaint. *********** initial email to BRAG was at 4:39 AM on 8/23/2021. In retrospect we are not up answering emails that early as many of us have full time day jobs.*********** second email stated the following " Also, if I do not receive a refund, I will file a complaint on the Better Business Bureau to get a resolution and file a small claims lawsuit." was sent at 8:11 AM on 8/23/2021, when many of us are just getting our day started.Without giving us a chance to respond to her emails this morning we did receive an email stating that ********* submitted a complaint against BarkingQ Rescue Across the Globe at 11:32 AM on 8/23/2021.Due to the circumstances, ********* will not be able to adopt a dog in the future from BarkinQ Rescue across the Globe along with being added to the National Do Not Adopt List. The reason behind this is because not only did we go through our thorough process to see if you were a good fit for fostering to adopt a dog through our rescue and ready to have another dog since her previous one passed and you were used to having a dog in the house. We as a rescue did pay all of the vetting fees and will attach the fees showing that all charges went to our card.I will attach the string of emails stating that ********* planned on returning the dog to the rescue because of the possible cost of chemotherapy. She then gave us hours notice following the neuter procedure to find him a new home because she was not going to pick him up at the vet due to his health conditions and that it was too sad to see him again. We did respond to her email stating that per the contract abandoning the dog was not an option and that we would try and resolve this peacefully.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I did see the email from PayPal for the refund amount of $350. Thank you. But I do not agree with what you said about not giving you enough time for the refund. As stated in your emails back on, Wednesday, August 11th, that you would discuss a refund with me. That never happened. I was very sad over the *********** of **** and did ask you to come and get the dog, but over night, I did email you in the morning and stated that I was going to pick him up from the vet and feel that I was not abandoning this dog. I asked at that time, if you could please find a home for him and that is when a text conversation started. Yes, they did find a new home for him, but it wasn't within a couple of hours. It was 2 days!! This all happened on Wednesday, August 11th and on August 12th, I moved, with ****, took him to ******, ** and then a lady named ****, picked him up at 1:30 pm on Thursday August 12th. I made sure this dog was still taken care of, he had he pain pills and was very well fed with good food and water and love and care. I do not agree with that you want to put me on a National Do Not Adopt list. It has been almost 2 weeks since I have surrendered the dog and no one has replied to my texts or e-mails about a refund from August 11th or August 12th, when the dog was surrendered. In Good Faith, you as the Rescue Group should have spoken to me about the refund at that time, Thursday, August 12th, the day he was surrendered. Not wait until I had to email you almost 2 weeks later asking for a refund and threatening you that I will file a complaint on the BBB. I even emailed you all regarding his vet diagnosis, on August 17th, 2021, of cancer asking for your confirmation that you received the vet's diagnosis, and still no response and no acknowledgement of a refund per your Adoption Contract.
