I contacted Remington auto the week of January 15 and asked for a quote to replace my ****** Prius engine. I was told it would take 13 to 15 hours and $1500 was the max ** be charged by the mechanic and it would take 3 to 5 days for the job to be complete. A day later the owner **** called from Remington, explaining that they were unsure, they could complete the job because they dont usually work with hybrid vehicles but they believe they can get it done. Owner accepted job and committed to having the vehicle ready to go in 3 to 5 days. I was not called or updated at all on pricing or issues at any point. I called several times and was told every time that they had not got to it. Two and a half weeks had passed, and I was given a call by owner stating that the vehicle was ready to be picked up, the car was running fine but might have minor electrical issues. He said my small battery in the back may be bad and I should change it after I pick up the ************** sounded off. I spoke with the mechanic (I have on video) who was upset, but honest and said this wasnt minor and could potentially be an additional 4k job. He said the car couldnt drive further than 2 miles before breaking down. I noticed a pattern of unprofessionalism. looking ******** regulations and finding out they should have been updating me on pricing and whats going on. I called ****** and a mechanic told me the likelihood of my engine, and both batteries failing at the same time is unlikely especially with no prior warning signs. The only issue was a blown head gasket. I have video proof of both owner and mechanic stating dozens of times they dont know what theyre doing with electrical. However; at the same time refusing to acknowledge their inexperience with hybrid vehicles is the reason my car is damaged. My bill is $800 over my quote & my car is still not fixed. Remington accepted a job that they were not capable of completing. I would like help filing an insurance claim for damages.
