On Monday, April 15th, I began a membership for Anytime Fitness in **********, **. The lady I spoke with was kind, and I didn't have any problems with customer service. I had to pay $158.50 for "money down", which I thought was kind of odd for a gym membership, but I didn't think much of it. I also had to pay $32.20 for my actual membership fees. I guess a trainer of some sort was added on for free for first time, so I decided to try it and didn't realize I'd continue to get charged $20 along with the membership fee. Not long after I began the membership, I had a family emergency and lost a large sum of money - I have been in the pit ever since and am still trying to stay afloat without having my bank account go negative. I had told the lady that I spoke with since day 1, and she said to cancel it would be $1,000! All in all, I've been charged a total of $262.90 from Anytime Fitness and would like a refund, if not possible, then at the very least being able to cancel my membership without paying $1,000. If there's anything you can do for me, I'd really appreciate it, thank you.
