Save yourself your sanity, happiness, and money! If you want to work with a builder on a new build choose anyone but this guy. My partner and I were first time home buyers and felt completely taken advantage of. Even if we were not first time home buyers, we feel that he would not give the quality of service and basic communication that any buyer deserves. **** stated our home would be finished in mid APRIL and come September, it still wasn't done. Every time we set a new deadline, he would wait until the last minute, sometimes literally the day of, to tell us he could not meet it and wouldn't explain why. We followed up with several people **** would contract with (appliances, stone, etc) and would find that he had not connected with them yet to obtain materials. Even when he would claim things were ready to go. This proved to us that it was not a "supply chain issue" but a lack of organization, and planning on ****'s part in being able to successfully complete this project.Both **** and his realtor, ********************************* sorely lacked communication. They would often take days to respond to questions or not give us any updates at all even when they stated they would be giving weekly updates. For the quality, **** had not yet painted the trim and left primer and exposed putty and claimed that if we wanted him to do that it would cost more money. This is a NEW BUILD. He will try to cut corners anywhere he can. We had a dispute about some quality control with things such as the countertops and **** would not even bother to mitigate the issue and said it was out of his hands when he was the one approving the work. When we finally had to pull away, **** delayed signing our cancellation agreement and posted the house on the market and listed it for even higher. At the end of the day, it was a nightmare, the build lacked any integrity, and we are happy we did not go through with it.

All industries have suffered from personnel shortages and materials shortages. State statute allows for delays for weather, labor shortages, and materials shortages. These delays are out of the builder's control. All correspondence between homeowners or agent have been saved. There are easily 100 or more of them along with signed Amendments to the purchase agreement agreeing to change closing dates when needed. It is absolutely false to say no communication here.

Promised things he can't deliver! Promised to be able to build a home for me and my disabled wife for a price and then changed price by OVER $30,000 in one months time. Never paid me for the plan he told me to have designed! I have documentation. HE THEN USED THE ***** PLAN TO BUILD A HOME 2 YEARS LATER FOR OVER$500,00 WHICH HURT US FURTHER??? Asked to be reimbursed and he refused. UNBELEIVABLE! Please beware.

This is a case of a buyer asking for best guess on pricing for a blueprint he found in a book. We had the plan drawn to a blueprint we could quote on. We paid for that blueprint that was useable for pricing. The timing he had come to us was right when lumber was skyrocketing. Price of all new construction went up and continued to go up through the next year. We were never under contract with this buyer. Just a case of the buyer couldn't afford the home after the materials price increases. Just like any other buyer that can't afford a certain house, you just move on. This guy isn't.

This is another lie and very hurtful! Please stop this builder from doing this to others. Please verify with my designer. I did hire a designer information will be below. She did custom design this home! I paid $600 for original design and she did have to redesign after builder Mike Torkelson Development **** Torkelson said I needed to design because of price of goods went up. I also took 2 days off work and mileage. Torkelson said his designer was on vacation and unable to design a home. I can provide prints from designer. Date of design would have been around 8/11/2020 I would be willing to take a lie detector test on everything I have stated!My designer information: Please verify.*****************************.
