We got our Goldendoodle Bear on Christmas Eve, and could not of asked for a better experience! Pamela has had great communication since day one! She’s very informative, knowledgeable, and takes the adoption process very seriously to ensure puppies are placed in great homes! Any questions I’ve had throughout the adoption process, Pamela has answered all of them quickly, and continues to answer any question I might have even after we brought our puppy home. Bear has been such a wonderful addition to our family! He’s a very happy, and healthy puppy, and we could not be happier with our experience with Puppies Up North! Highly recommend Puppies Up North to anyone who is looking to adopt a puppy. Thank you Pamela, and Mike for all of your help and allowing us to adopt Bear he is the best!

Just got our Mini Golden doodle from them a few days ago. I cannot say enough how wonderful Pam and Mike were throughout the process. Incredibly well informed, warm, welcoming, and obviously care for their puppies very much! They were even kind enough to travel to meet us when picking up the puppy (Walter) so that we didn't have to drive so far! Since getting our puppy, they have been super responsive in answering questions and providing support while we adjust to having a young puppy in our home. I have absolute confidence in Puppies Up North as a breeder and caretaker of their lil furry babies. Rest assured, Puppies Up North is the gold standard for what you would want in a breeder. Nothing but the highest praise and appreciation for what they do, how they do it, and our new baby boy Walter :)

We bought our Poodle-Shih Tzu iin 2018 from Puppies Up North Bringing a puppy home can be very stressful. We had Chewie for 2 weeks and my husband said we should return him and consider it an expensive mistake.?? Thankfully Pamela held my hand through the first month.?? It was like having a new born. Chewie is the light of my life. ??I can’t imagine my life with out my little guy! Thank you Puppies Up North! Martha F.

Very reputable and loving breeders. Many have complained about the prices and compared the place to a puppy mill. The prices are set so that not just anyone gets a puppy but people who will care for them. Also, puppy mills do not charge a lot because they don’t spend the money tocare for the puppies. HIGHLY recommend Pamela and Mike.

Our experience with Puppies up North would have been great if Pamela’s strength was customer service, but this is definitely a weakness for her. She can be rude and condescending. I agree with other reviews that she looks for ways to keep the deposit. For her it is money over doing the right thing. We had second thoughts about getting a second puppy from her. We let her know of our decision within 24 hours. She than become a broken records…. Deposits are non-refundable. She accused us of harassing her and her driver (husband). I let her husband know that we didn’t think it was right that she kept the deposit because we let her know within 24 hours of our change of heart. I also noted to him what our possible next steps might me. Her husband said he understood and would speak to his wife and would support and advocate our side with Pamela. During the time of placing our request for another dog and then cancelling that request, we talked to our vet and trainer and they both thought it was not a good idea to get two dogs from the same litter. There can be a situation of littermate syndrome. The dogs bond together and not with you and a pecking order between the two dogs develops. Here’s one example of where she called my wife a liar. She told the credit card company in our dispute… “I can’t imagine that my wife talked to all those people in 24 hours” and “did my wife actually talk to the trainer and vet? She did talk to all those people. Other lies, “we were ungrateful and irritated that her husband was a few minutes late.” 100% not true. We asked her to deliver the original puppy to Tomah, WI. False, she offered that as an option. Bottom line, think twice before purchasing a puppy form Pamela and Puppies up North. There are a lot of horror stories out there. Please read the other Google review.

I am heart-sick of ******* and ********************* comments to the BBB. Here's are my comments regarding the above writings:******* initially didnt fill out the application in its entirety so I needed to make a call to get the application fully filled out, including the State of *********, which takes an extra page I need to cross state lines from my vetshe also did not fill out the veterinarians phone number, I had to look it up.******* stated on application that they wanted to pick up the puppy from Staples ************************ ******* electronically signed the application that states clearly A non-refundable deposit of $700 is required to reserve the puppy you choose., which will be applied to purchase of said puppy. If you have paid your deposit, and you choose a different puppy from another litter, then said deposit must be paid again. I believe that part of the contract is very clear and was written by my lawyer.PuppiesUpNorth processed the applicationDeborah talked about how beautiful our puppies were and purchased *** our CavadoodleI sent her all the previous pictures I had taken of ********** called and stated that they also wanted to purchase ****, our Cavadoodle. I talked to them about how fun it is to have two puppiesromping and roaming with each other but then at night they each could hold one while watching tvtold them I loved when **** (my husband) and I both got to hold our own dogswe didnt have to share a dog. They loved that idea. ******* was all excited and gave me the credit card to purchase ****, our Cavadoodle. I took **** offline, so he is not available anymore for anyone to see or purchase. After having **** offline (which always creates a lot of work for me to have a puppy offline then put back online, customers ask why, there is a lot of explanation) for a day, I get a text back weve had a change of heart regarding adopting two puppies at the same time. I dont think we can reasonably take on two at once. Maybe in a year we will get a second one so that *** would have company. I hope that this is ok with you. We just want the best for all of us. Can you apply the extra down payment towards ***? ****** and ********************* I immediately wrote back that the deposit was non-refundableI begged them to trystating many retired people have done twoDeborah stated she was concerned about littermate syndromestating both vets and trainer have brought this to her attentionMy thoughts: I cant imagine that ******* had talked to all those people in a 24 hour time frameI asked what is littermate syndromeI told her I have two myselfneither act inferior, neither have crazy issues...they are best friends. Stating sometimes **** takes one, sometimes he take bothsometimes I take one, sometimes I take bothbut that they are individual dogsDeborah wrote we have decided that we will have to give up the deposit. Asking me to save it as a credit for a future puppy.I sent her documentation that the deposit is non-refundable according to my applicationI copied and pasted directly from my application that she signedDeborah replied We understand, We will take *** and forfeit the deposit on ********** wrote and said I wished shed give it a chance.I also was asking her exactly what her trainer and vet said??I told her Ive never heard of littermate syndrome I looked up littermate syndrome on ******and explained to her what the web saidlittermate syndrome can sometimes occur when two puppies adopted from the same litter grow up together in the same home. In some RARE cases theses sibling puppies form such a deep bond with each other that they fail to properly socialize with people and other dogs.explaining in my 14 years of business I have never had this happen and that ****** states its RARE!******* never did answer me what her vet or trainer said???Note: Did ******* actually talk to the trainer and vets?I also had 4 dogs living in my house at one time and they got along great.I also stated that some vets are alarmists ******* asked if she could think about it for a daywhich is more than 3-4 days as stated by the Zulegers above Going on several days nowwith **** off my websiteDeborah stated that they selpt on it and they decided they were no equipped for two puppies. Puppies Up North believes that two are easier to take care of onethey entertain each otherDeborah stated she will not be taking ****, but that she was so excited to meet *** ******* talked about re-naming *** to *****, and new photos I had just taken were sent ******* thanked me so much for updating the picture and I sent **** weight.Since ******* had stated that they wanted to meet at Staples Dairy Queen, she talked about *****, ** ((a 10 hour round trip for my husband)The Zulegers drove a Bright *********** Outback and met my husband that day.The Zulegers approach my husband right away. **** (my husband) stated that they hassled him asking him if they could get the $700 back. **** is my husband and the delivery driver, and I didnt appreciate him being hassledThey took *** the original dog they wanted, and **** went home. The Zulegers then filed a credit card dispute which had many mistruths so they could get the $700 back from their credit cardPuppies Up North gave the credit card company this same version, and Puppies Up North WON the dispute and the $700 was left in my account. The Zulegers then texted me again, stating have you reconsidered refunding all or part of our deposit? We see that **** soldPuppies Up North wrote back Technically, I cant talk to you, as you filed a credit card dispute on meDeborah wrote it has been resolvedPuppies Up North wrote back What was their (credit card company arbitrator) resolution?******** wrote back Our card was rechargedSo nowrelentlessly they are now filing with the Better Business Bureau. Now I have to take more time away from our puppies to file my comments here.Puppies Up North believes that even tho the Zulegers wrote in their text that they understood the contract and they would forfeit the deposit and that even tho the credit card company arbitrator understood the contract and ruled against them they now are trying to take Puppies Up North down by filing this negative, lie filled comment. A week ago we picked up our puppy from Puppies Up North. It all started when I saw a picture of the puppy we eventually adopted. I had questions, and so I talked with the owner who spent a lot of time answering my questions. We were very likeminded in our thoughts and so we went forward with the adoption. Everything went smoothly, and I picked up our beautiful little puppy. She was so well-behaved on the long drive home, well-behaved meeting our other fur babies. She was potty trained, slept well, and socialized. Today she became 4 months old and had her first grooming! We think that she is one very smart puppy! The whole experience with Puppies Up North could not have gone smoother either for us or our new puppy. Good job Puppies Up North! Thank you for our beautiful girl.**************

We had an extremely pleasant experience with puppies up north! We were initially a little nervous after seeing some of the reviews, but there are two sides to every story, and I recommend talking to ****** about any that concern you.As far as our experience goes, it was quite the contrary. ****** and **** are very sweet people, and clearly care a lot about these pups! They are so thorough, and give very detailed instructions on what to do when you get your dog. Hand holding in a good way to make sure the dog adjusts. They also really care about the dogs going to good homes, hence the whole process. I recommend adopting from them, because above all, they care a lot. 5/5

We first got introduced to Puppies up North in 2016 (6 years ago). We were new to wanting to adopt a new fur baby. We knew nothing about owning a dog other than it was going to be a lot of work. I called around to a few different breeders then came across Puppies Up North. ****** was extremely informative, responsive, and honest. She not only told us what to expect the first year of the puppies life but informed us of what kind of obstacles we would have to overcome with the new addition to our home. Everything that ****** taught us was backed up by our vet. We have had our ***** for the last 5 years and hes been an amazing addition to our family. So much so, we had other members of our extended family and multiple friends purchase their dogs from Puppies up North. Fast forward to current day. We have been thinking of getting a playmate for ***** and when it came time to pull the trigger, we didnt hesitate to reach out to Puppies up North again. This time around was much easier given the experiences we went through with *****, but ****** was still extremely informative about what to expect bringing puppy #2 into our home. There will be different obstacles to overcome but knowing the care and attention these puppies receive from the team at Puppies up North, we are certain this is going to be a great experience. If you are interested in adding to your family with a fur baby, please dont hesitate to reach out to ****** and ask for my information. Id be happy to talk with anyone about the great group at Puppies up North.-**************

****** was and sounded knowledgeable and friendly. She and I talked to me several times and I let her talk me into a mini labradoodle. When I brought him home he was extremely vocal and was crying while scratching at his ears. When I called *** report these issues she blamed the itching on staff who did not properly rinse the soap off after cleaning him. He certainly did not smell like he had been washed. She discouraged me from taking him to the vet because, she said, the vets just want to make money and will try to find something wrong. I did take him to the vet and it cost over $100 to be diagnosed and treated for infections in both ears.ears. Although told 3 times and being sent the vet ****, no reimbursement for this health problem was made.He was not potty trained as promised. He screeches at at a very high pitch and extremely high volume and can keep it ** for hours in spite all the interventions we have tried. He has a number of other behavioral challenges. He has been through puppy ******** class by areas premier dog trainer, as well as private behavioral session with the trainer. He screeched his way through his first grooming, does not play well with other puppies, and climbs over puppy gates and play pens. Puppy day care was not a success. Sometimes he is nasty and aggressive with us. Our last dog was just the opposite. I had hoped to train him as another therapy dog but that doesnt seem possible I will have to find other placement for him in next couple of weeks because we are moving to an area that is more densely populated and homes are located closer to each other. He would never be tolerated there. After all the love and attention (and money) I have spent on this beautiful, intelligent and often very loving puppy, it breaks my heart to have to give him **.** hopes that he will find mutual happiness with another owner.I feel like I made a very poor choice of breeders and that I was scammed. Be careful and read the reviews!

      Puppies Up North Response

Here are a few details regarding this past client:~ I talked many times to this client but never did I "Talk her into any of my puppies"~I never beg people to take my puppies, as I want the perfect fit, so I spend lots of time with families on the phone ~My vet thoroughly checks my puppies...my vet covers 80 different parts of each puppy...so having an ear infection was hard to understand however the ear medicine is usually about $8 per bottle, plus the vet check. Client would never send me the receipt for reimbursement ~He was potty trained up to the clients door...which I say that in many conversations...I can't possibly cover total potty training in your house...they know 2 of the 3 concepts...and they are trained on a flip door to go outside.~The most important part of this, was that the "puppy screeched". You never heard that the puppy was brought to a vet to find out why it was screeching...which I think client thought it was only a behavioral issue. When client brought the puppy back to me, I immediately took this puppy to the vet...they found the puppy had an old injury on the back leg where 20% of the left leg had muscle damage. The back leg clearly had been hurt badly and so the puppy cried, screamed, and yes screeched at the top of his lungs, etc...he was in pain!! I have spent over $3000 on this puppy with pain meds, acupuncture and chiropractic care as well as over 40 hours in at home exercising! I am saddened that this client would choose to make such harsh accusations on the puppy that got hurt in their care!

I would never do business with puppies up north again. Purchased two mini doodles but unfortunately had to return one; due to very aggressive behavior to the other puppy. Both puppies were extremely dirty, vet had to clean their ears and they were very skittish. ****** returned ****** of the ******* of the purchase price, and kept the dog. She is very rude and I don't think she cares about the puppies only the money
