We hired 4-State Logging to come and cut some of our trees. The company ended up cutting 7. These were very mature trees. Around 36 diameter and at least 50 ft tall. The logger said there was wire in three, but that part was cut off and the rest of the good log sold. We had 5 White *** and 2 Black Walnut. This logger worked a day and a half here. My problem is that he made a deal with a buyer without informing us. Sold the trees without giving us time to think an offer over, then mislead me about the check. He called and said, ' you got ****, the buyer is down there'. So I went down and was feeling like **** was really low balling us, the buyer handed me the check. I didn't look at it right away but when I walked back up to my house the check was for ****. The logger kept trying to convince me that I got ****, which is 400 a tree and not a good price. The logger had a check for **** as well. I called him and complained to let him know we were not happy with the price and he was very upset about it. We talked it over my husband and me and was going to call him and return the check and try to find a better deal and when we got up the next day he had picked up all the logs . The buyer had told me hevwas going to pick them up later that week. I asked him about it and he said if I was going to back out I would have to pay at least halfbthe freight for him to bring them back, I don't have that kind of money. I did post a review and it was not stellar and the owner sent me 97 text after that. I have them all. He said I was greedy, a lier, and on a power trip. At first I felt wrong after 97 text I felt bullied, harrassed, and threatened. I also did not receive a receipt until several days later. I may be wrong but I can't imagine a logger working a day and a half with a crew, equipment, the job itself, and the travel to our house and only make ****. I would think he would be in the hole. I am very concerned that there may be some paying under the table going on.
