Hired *********************** in Nov 2021 to finish and stain backyard fence around our home. He also committed to completing bookshelves around the kids playroom. I paid $1790 initially to secure his services and assist with materials costs. He said he would start the projects twice and did not show. I was unable to reach him via call or text or phone call multiple times. Finally reached him by calling his significant other around January or Feb 2021, at which time he provided multiple excuses for why he hadnt finished the projects. He said he would finish them soon. In March, I reached out to a lawyer who started by writing him a letter stating I would pursue legal action should he fail to satisfactorily complete the projects or refund the money. He contacted me two days after receiving the letter and stated he would be out to complete the fence. He came out two weeks ago, and ripped out the previous fence and replaced it with a completely unsturdy and poorly constructed fence using incorrect nails that now poke through the boards creating a safety hazard for my three children and our dogs. Ive tried more than three times to meet with or discuss the expectations for the fence completion, and he has failed to discuss any of this with me. Im beyond frustrated as a single mother who trusted a professional to complete a project he claimed he was capable of completing. I would like my money back as I now have to hire another professional to rip out the mess he created and replace the fence entirely.
