I hired him and signed a contract to do work and he has blown me off for different reasons. I decided to cancel him and now he won't return my money. He has said he bought supplies and he has not even started the work.Initial Complaint

We hired *************************** to hook up power in our shop building. Received estimate. (Paid total of $6,807.77)4-12-22 met **** McCarty to sign contract and make 1st payment of $3,100.00 for supplies.4-20-22 - **** and three employees came out for approx 4 1/2 hours to hang wiring and 2 of the 3 shop lights. Said they'd be back.4-28-22 - Due to delay in **** McCarty not getting supplies in timely manner, prices went up. We met in the middle and paid an additional $750.00 for supplies.5-10-22 We let **** know we were leaving town for 1 1/2 weeks; he asked if we would be comfortable paying the final amount due, and he would finish the job within a day or two of us leaving. (Oct found out DigRite not contacted per web site) 5-11-22 **** came by - Paid $2,957.77. 5-22-22 Arrived home - no additional work done. Wires still hanging and stuff laying around as we left it.5-23-22 ****'s response to our inquiry: "Sorry Ive been meaning to update you. ** guy said that he trenched everything in and finished up but lied to me and used my equipment on a side job. I do apologize truly. I will be there myself to finish this week."And it has been one excuse right after another since. Since some were personal, we tried to be patient and show some ****** As time went on it was clear he couldn't keep up with his lies. The past few weeks we never heard back from him...until yesterday when he sent a one liner "I have been in the hospital". He might have been in the hospital, but he has had time to be doing other things too, so for all I know he had an appointment with his heart Dr. ** husband has many texts, but I don't have those organized yet. Resolution: We would rather him get out here to complete the job so we don't have to start over. I think he is capable...I just think he made some bad decisions and we were one of the few who have turned into victims.If he can't finish the work, my 2nd choice of resolution would be an almost full refund so we can get the work finished.Initial Complaint

I wrote ***************************, the owner of McCarty electric, a check for $850 on July 1st to wire up a hot tub. He cashed the check July 5th. For a month, he kept saying he would come and would never show up. I called the sheriffs department and they called **** and **** told them he would refund my money but when I spoke to him he refused to give me my money and make it right. He then blocked all contact with me. I went to my bank and reported it and they said there is nothing they can do. *** also contacted the attorney general.
