Pier Magic was paid $25450.00 to install piers under the foundation of our house. The primary reason for chosing PierMagic is that they offered a Lifetime Transferable Waranty. In 2022 we decided to sell the house. We called pier magic to have them measure and check the foundation because there is a crack in one of the walls. Pier Magic (******* ******) informed me that they no longer honor the Lifetime Warranty.Business response

We would like to address this situation directly with the customer. This review is an outlier to our other highly rated reviews, which we take very seriously. We learned about this situation Friday afternoon and intended to call you on Monday to resolve. Consequently, we are blindsided by your review without an opportunity to rebuttal and have an amicable conversation. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss further on Monday when our owner is available to discuss. [Update: we spoke with the customer today and they have agreed to our team coming up and assessing the situation for a possible solution.]Initial Complaint

I contacted Pier Magic to get an estimate on a damaged basement floor and my chimney beginning to pull away from my house. I was told that I would need two piers to correct the problem and concrete floor leveler to even out the floor that had sunk around my fireplace and surrounding area. I asked what was the cost of the piers and I was told $1300 each. When I received my estimate the piers were quoted $1650 each and floor leveling was quoted at $700 for a total of $4000. The estimate stated that the home owner was responsible to remove part of the deck. I contacted the sales rep due to my wrist injury and asked them to remove a small part of the deck. I was told it would t be an additional $1500. i questioned the price at the time and was told it was going to be a lot of work. On the day the work began the crew removed five deck boards one section of rail and cut several floor joist to reach the area. I was home at the time it took maybe an hour or more to take down. After completion of the job I spoke with my sales rep and I expressed my concern that I was overcharged for the amount of work it took to remove a small portion of the deck. I was told that he would speak with the crew and get back to me. After getting back to me he stated he could do nothing about the price. I was not happy but I payed the agreed amount and told them I needed to have the damage to my concrete the crew did repaired. I was told to send pictures which I did yet I have not had anyone come to look at the damage or contact me about repairs.Business response

**** ****** Head of Sales PierMagic: First off $1300 was never discussed or quoted as the price of the piers. I determined 2 helical piers were needed at $1650 each and added $700 for the floor leveling, making the total of the job $4,000. I did put on the estimate that it was the customers responsibility to take down and replace the deck in the area needed for us to perform the scope of work, which is standard practice. The customer then asked if we could perform the work of taking down and replacing the deck. I stated that we could do that and quoted an estimate of $1500 to remove and replace the deck. This was a very fair price quote. There can be a lot involved with this and takes a fair amount of skill to do. The customer then accepted the amount of $5500 total for the job. We performed the work to the satisfaction of the customer and did everything we said we would do. We even leveled out the customers deck where it had a low spot when we put it back. So the deck is actually in better shape now. It was after the job was done when I received a phone call asking about pier pricing, etc. The customer had talked with a neighbor who told him that pier pricing should be $1300. There are many different styles of piers with many different prices on each. The neighbors piers were a different style with a different price and application. We are not comparing apples to apples. As far as the damage to the concrete/paver stones I asked the customer to send pictures. I responded the same day stating that we would take care of the paver stones and the pictures would be forwarded to the owner. I have contacted the customer on two different occasions responding to this. We will take care of the damaged paver stones at no cost to the customer.
***** ******** Owner: Spoke with Mr. ****** and agreed to review the job. I listened to his complaint and concluded that not only had we fulfilled our agreement, but had extra expense in the floor leveling, approximately double. I felt that the value of the deck repair was fair and was more than fair if the floor leveling was considered as an offsetting factor. I did not have a chance to respond to Mr. ****** complaint before I was informed of the BBB complaint, this was approximately 5 days later.
