      • On June 17 2021 we commited to a metal building purchase. A contract was made in the amount of $5509.38. We paid a 10% deposit and virtually signed the contract. • We were then told building would be delievered and installed with 2-3 months. • The building arrives in october 4-5months later. But the building is incomplete and they then state i needed to pay for a part that was already on my order. I over hear the installation crew speak with their boss over the phone on speaker and i hear them say in spanish and im fluent, that i need to be charged twice the amount for the part and to retrieve gas money from us to bring the missing piece. the paper work they recieved was wrong our colors were wrong for the building along with the design. Also they promissed to come back 3 days later i and waited for several months nothing. We then find out they sold our building 4 days later to someone else. The office forgot about my order. they then didnt send anyone else to call us or help with our purchase in any way dodging our phone calls and text messages. • Northwest finally calls us back after we call the **** buildings which their name is also on the contract. • They tell us its their fault they dropped the ball on our order, however they state that they no longer can sell us a building at the cost on the contract because of the rising metal prices. And want to start negotiations and offered a counteroffer for us to pay them the price of $8800.00, but our contract was at 5500.00 and they manufactured my builiding brought it to my home dropped it off then reloaded and resold it. My building was here and manufacturedand i dont see why we have to pay almost twice as much for a building under contract. I just want them to satisfy our contractual agreement and get this buildng installed at our original contract price. • They recognize that they were at fault and refuse to do anything about it. We have completed our end of was expected.we are now just waiting on them.

      This building had been attempted to install in August. The building was brought in accordance with the order. *** wanted a black roof, not burgundy as listed on the order. In addition to this he wanted two side wall openings. The order only charged one. *** was offered to be shown the pricing flyers at the time his order was placed to confirm this is in fact accurate. He refused, saying that was not necessary. At the time of install the issue was the same. He didn't want to pay more, he claimed the order was correct. The building sold, was not the building the customer actually wanted because the written order was incorrect. Customers work with the dealer to design the building they want submitted to the company. This order is reviewed and signed by the customer prior to submitting it to the manufacture (us). Any errors in the order took place during this beginning stage of the ordering process. 

       

      We advised him to contact his dealer, get the order corrected and let us know the outcome. The last correspondence he had with a member of the company was in September. Months passed with no word from the dealer nor the customer until recently. The company had spoke with the customer, informing him we no longer service his area and the price of steel is higher than when the order was placed. We cannot fill the order at the listed price and pay the labor associated with this building plus a delivery fee to the crew going to install. The company agreed to work with this customer, we agreed to service his building, but at a price that will cover the costs associated with his build. We offered $7,217.83- a discount of $1,269 from market value today. The customer refused. We then received notification from the dealer that he would possibly be willing to pick up and self install. We agreed to give him his order price if this was the case of self-install and pick up. This was expressed to him in a email with no response to this date. 

       

      It is not uncommon for a customer to go back to the dealer and switch the order with another company or cancel the order. This is what the company thought was the case. We have made effort to work with the customer, but the customer is unwilling to accept any outcome other than the price listed on the original order.

      On June 2, 2021 I had purchased a carport from Northwest Missouri Carports. I purchase the carport with a certificate that indicated that my carport would be constructed using mobile home anchors and proper screws on the frame that could with stand 100 mile hour winds. No where in their brochure did it say that the winds couldn't be sustained winds. The winds that day were only 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts of 50 mph. My carport was constructed on July 29, 2021 not even 6 months later my carport is totaled. The construction of my carport was not installed properly with the proper anchors or screws and during the windstorm that occurred on December 15, 2021 my carport was blown down on top of my trailer. I contacted Northwest Missouri Carports immediately Dec.16, 2021 to inform them of my claim. They have sent me a denial letter stating that they would not cover the damages, because it was due to sustained winds per their engineer. I called them back on Dec. 17, 2021 to explained to them that the carport wasn't constructed properly. They haven't sent out any engineers to look at the damage, because they say it was due to the wind. My issue is that the carport wasn't constructed with the proper anchors or screws, which I had paid extra for, had they used the materials that i paid for the carport possibly wouldn't of blown over, therefore they are liable for my damages. When I brought that up to them I was told that they only warranty the construction for 30 days, but if you didn't construct the carport properly and with the materials that I had purchased that should nullify that portion of the agreement. All I am getting from them at this time is the run around and no culpability for the workmanship. As of today Dec 20, 2021 they are still deny any liability and are not going to replace the carport and remove it or address the damages that occurred to my trailer either.

      According to **** ****** Emergency Management the weather events that surrounded December 15th were similar to the entire region. Strong sustained winds with gusts up to 80 mph possible. With sustained winds greater than 75 mph the wind pattern can be comparable to a tropical storm. The damage seen around the entire region was mild to moderate damage, trees were uprooted from the ground and semi trucks knocked on their sides. 

      When a  customer certifies a building this is saying that the building is constructed with industry standards for that region. It also carries with it ground anchors and braces on each leg. Given the fact that we operate from the office, we entrust our sub-contractors to fil orders accordingly. We received no notification of any variations in this order. Our installers are only human, sometimes they forget, and sometimes there are reasons mobile home anchors are not able to be installed. This is the reason we offer a workmanship warranty, in this case 90 days. That is sufficient time for customers to preform a full inspection on the product they received. The certification does NOT specify that the building will incur NO damage in strong winds. In fact, the building is still anchored in the ground, but damaged, which is standard findings from the storm that passed through the region. 

      The hope is that if there had been the correct anchors there would possibly have not been damage. We can say with great confidence that the outcome would be the same. The structural impairment came from the top. Tall buildings (13 ft legs- 16 ft peak) catch wind. This is why high profile vehicles such as semi trucks were knocked over as well, due to the height. 

      Due to the consistencies of your damage to the surrounding areas, we hold firm that this is damage due to implement weather not defects in the product.

      I ordered a building on May 14 and paid $530.50 for the down payment. The total for the building was $5671.73. I just got a call today saying they would finally be able to get this to me but they would have to charge me $1500 more because they claimed it was misquoted. They had communicated with many multiple times before today but they never once mentioned there would be a change in price. They also said if I cancel they won't give me my deposit back. I would either like for them to follow the job and agree to the price I was originally given or if they won't do that I want my full deposit back. It is not my fault they claimed to misquote me.

      When there is a pricing error this must be corrected before the order can be filled. That is company policy. We would have been glad to provide the break down of pricing to verify that this is in fact an error in the pricing quoted by the dealer. The dealer is a sub contractor entrusted to represent our company. Due to human error the end was not charged. Customer refused to pay this extra amount, which lead to a cancellation to the order. This customer was a final order we have in the St.Louis area. We no longer service that area and since he refused to pay the correct pricing, we were unable to secure him a spot in the last round to that area. If any deposits are to be refunded that is solely dependent on the dealer who SOLD the building. It is up to their company policy weather or not a full, partial, or no refunds should be issued.

      **** ***** The company sat on the order for 5 months before letting me know that there was a price issue. I am not happy with the week excuse for them to cancel my order. I have tried to talk with the selling dealer with absolutely no response.
