My car broke down when I was working Branson so i took my car to Bat Boys to be fixed. They said my alternator failed and replaced it along with a belt. They told me there was an oil leak but did not ever note that it was related to my Alternator failing and did not explain that it was critical that it needed to be fixed or my alternator would fail again. They replaced my alternator and replaced a belt and charged me $900 and let me drive away. Within 4 hours my alternator already started failing. I called the company and they gave me a number for a nationwide warranty program and after having a diagnosis i found out that my alternator failing was in fact directly related to the oil leak (that once again i was never told had anything to do with my alternator) and that it voided my warranty. The manufacturer warning for the alternator states specifically “ CAUTION: PREVENT REPRAT ALTERNATOR FAILURE! Alternator failure may be due to an engine oil leak. On many vehicles the VTEC assembly is located directly above the dipstick and alternator. If the VTEC gasket has failed this is the source of your oil leak and alternator failure. Replacing the VTEC gasket is a quick repair rated at 0.7 hrs professional labor. Do it today” and another warning stating “WARNING: FLUID CONTAMINATION IS NOT A MANUFACTURER’S DEFECT AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY” They took my money and put a bandaid on my problem without ever explaining the true issue and causing me more problems and money out of my pocket.
