According to BBB Code ofAdvertising, “Whenusing the term ‘warranty’ or ‘guarantee’ in product advertising, the advertisermust clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details ofthe warranty can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser’s location, viewed onthe advertiser’s website or, in the case of mail or telephone order sales, madeavailable free on written request.” In addition, “When advertising ‘lifetime’warranties or guarantees or similar representations, the advertisement mustclearly and conspicuously disclose its intended meaning of the term‘lifetime’.”
BBB asked the business tomodify, substantiate or discontinue its advertising claims. The businessresponded, but was unwilling to substantiate or modify the claims.
