I purchased an engine from ****** and this company picked it up. He installed the engine. The day he was supposed to drive it to me, he told me the engine was bad and I needed to get another one. He took it back to ****** **** and they gave him $150 and gave him another engine. He installed that engine and he drove it to my house. The next day I drove it and the car stopped. I called him and asked him to come and get it. He told me too have it towed to another shop and he would take care of it if he did something wrong. The new shop said it was a loose ground wire that he disconnected during the install. I had to pay over $400 for the tow and the repair. Now he's not answering

She hired me to put an engine in her vehicle.  She purchased it from a local junkyard.  They recommended me to her.  She didn't have a way to get her car to me.  I went and picked up the car and the engine.  I put the engine in the vehicle.  When I was finished, the engine was rattling really bad.  She purchased a bad engine.  I called the salvage yard and they told me they would get her another motor.  I called back and told her.  I asked her who was going to reimburse me for installing the engine twice.  The salvage yard reimbursed me for the labor.  They gave me another engine.  I conducted a compression test on the engine. There was no compression in it and there was water in it.  I called the consumer and told her.  I called the salvage yard again and they didn't have another motor to give me.  They contacted another junkyard.  The other junkyard gave me an engine.  I'm running back and forth to these salvage yards and no one is reimbursing me for them.  The third motor was bad.  They ended up giving me a good motor.   I installed that engine.  I get the vehicle done and she can't come and pick it up.  I took it to her at no charge.  A few hours later, the vehicle broke down.  She told me it wouldn't start.  I told her to take it to a local shop.  The shop towed it.  The shop told me it needed an ignition module.  I took them the part and they were going to fix it.  Then she told me there was a ground wire that wasn't connected.  I told her to bring it back to me and I would fix it.  She had the shop to fix it and I didn't get a chance to fix it.  She never told me she wanted to be reimbursed for that repair.  I would have fixed it if she brought it back to me.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

He told me to take it to a local shop and if it was his fault, he would pay for it.  He failed to follow through with that.  ***** told me it needed an ignition module.  The shop I took it to said it wasn't the ignition module.  The shop tried to contact this company and they wouldn't answer.  They told me it was a loose ground wire all they needed to was reconnect it.  I was waiting on ***** to respond to me.  I tried to call from different numbers and I couldn't get through.  He did not tell me to bring it back to him to fix it.  I didn't have to tell ***** I needed to be reimbursed for the repair.  He offered it to me.  He claimed he knew the shop I took it to.  He didn't do a compression test on the first two engines.  I am still having an oil leak in the same spot.  I just want to be reimbursed.

      Sincerely,

      **** *****

I’m rejecting customers request for a refund, the customer was told to bring the vehicle back to my shop for repair. As for the oil leak, she purchased a used high mileage engine from a scrap yard. Customer needs to take that issue up with the company she purchased it from. All I done was a engine swap and I did a compression test on the other 2 bad engine’s which I was not reimbursed for, I never at any point told her I was going to pay for the repair at the other shop. I told her to get it towed and checked out and I’d would repair it,once she got it back to my shop. I would also like to request reimbursement for the multiple trips I had to make to pick up the bad engine’s. That was not part of the original quote I gave her to swap the engine’s. I thought I was was doing her a favor by delivering the vehicle back to her, which again I was not reimbursed, my time is just as important as hers and Deisel fuel isn’t free.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
******* **** reached out to him several times to tell him about the ground wire.  He didn't respond to them.  I also tried to contact him and he wouldn't respond.  It is a terrible business practice to promise something and not follow through with it.  He said he would cover the costs if it was his fault.  I trusted him to do the right thing.  He could have towed it back to his shop when he came up here.  I am still requesting the $400 for the tow and the repair.

      Sincerely,
