A new roof was placed by the company 1/2023, after agreement on a price and details for the job. There was no education regarding temperature related issues from the company prior to the placement of the roof. The roof shingles were placed in temperatures that were cold (only above 40 degrees for a few hours). Many shingles were lifted up and wavy in appearance. The roof shingles were not sealed with chemicals; therefore, the shingles must have heat for a period of time to seal themselves. This could be ok, but in the interim, the shingles do not start the warranty (such as wind warranty), per ***** *******. So, if they blew off it would be an issue. The company reps were very surprised that information regarding this issue was not discussed prior to the shingles being placed and pointed me to the information. There were some other, more minor, issues with the roof such as white caulk and a rusted metal flashing that were showing up on the black roof. When professionally questioned about these issues and concerns, the owner, ****** became somewhat aggressive and threatening in text and emails. He was told that the intent was to pay the remainder of the agreed upon amount in full when the work was satisfactory; but that we were contacting ***** ******* and also having contractors look at the job to make sure everything was ok. We requested extra time and also suggested coming to a mutual and collegial agreement to potentially wait until the shingles sealed from heat and the warranty was in place from the shingle manufacturer, prior to payment. Dates were requested to paint the metal and replace the caulk with black color, and were not met with collegial discussion. I was met with further aggression, accusations, and derogatory comments. I am requesting assistance communicating with this company.

Customer was provided with five year warranty on the new roof that was installed, if any shingles on the roof  blows off, it will be covered by the five year warranty.  Customer is allowed to file a compliant and we will come and replace the roof.  We as company are willing to come and meet the customer expectations but we also need to collect the remaining payment,  Before the thirty days after the installment  was done.  We try to meet the customer expectations  of the metal rusted tie boot, and black hooking, but the customer was not available this past Saturday on 02/04/2023.  So, we could not fix it.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The company was asked not to go to the residence 2 4 2023, as there was still snow and ice on the roof, as depicted in the provided dated and time stamped photo.  There is also email proof of this conversation.  To say we were not available on 2 4 2023 is deceitful and unethical language.  There are also provided dated and time stamped photos that show that the company did go to the property without permission 2 4 2023, and painted or replaced the caulk circles.  The gutter was also damaged that day.

The company and I had agreed that the company would go to the property 2 11 2023 to complete the repairs at 10:00 am.  They did show up and were observed doing repairs, though later in the day.  2 11 2023 was requested by property owner as warmer weather was forecasted in the days preceding, which would hopefully allow some of the shingles to adhere, bringing the shingles closer to obtaining the factory warranty.

Once the requested, untouched unaltered aerial photos - from the same vantage points as the original drone photos are sent, the roof and damaged gutter repairs are made to satisfaction, and the shingles have sealed to obtain the warranty, the payment will be promptly mailed.

(The photos will be emailed as the file is too large to allow the message to go through on the website).

      Thank you in advance.

      Sincerely,

      ******** ****** ***
