    They have cheaper premiums because they do not pay for hardly any thing. I have an injured shoulder and have had one for a year. My doctor ordered an MRI, they would not approve it, said I had to go to physical therapy so I did. My shoulder is worse than it ever was and they still will not approve my MRI. dont use them, pay a little more for something better. You are only wasting your monthly premium. It seems as if you are saving money, but you are not. I am 54 years old, work hard. My fingers are going numb. I have called many times and they are terrible with customer service. Dont do it

    Absolutely the Worst Insurance Experience Ive Ever HadAmbetter is by far the worst insurance company Ive ever dealt with. Their service is abysmal, and trying to reach them is a complete nightmare. They inexplicably terminated my coverage, despite everything being in order with the Marketplace, where I originally purchased the ******* make matters worse, their plans are wildly overpriced. I was paying $1,000 a monthjust for my dad, who has no medical conditions or current diagnoses. Thats an outrageous premium for a single, healthy ************* a physician, Im in and out of surgeries all day, with about an hour between cases. I used that time to call Ambetterfive separate timesand every single call was a disaster. I waited on hold for 45 minutes each time, only to have to re-verify that I was calling on behalf of my father (the member), even though I was already confirmed as the authorized representative earlier that same day. Every call started from scratch. No one ever had a record of the previous callsno notes, no continuityjust a complete waste of time over and over again.They charged me for an extra month and refused to refund me, even though I paid for three months waiting for the first PCP appointment. Then they abruptly canceled the policy two days before the appointment and kept my money.When I finally had time to sit for over two hours on the phone, I reached the escalation teamonly for them to ask if I had contacted the Marketplace. I told them yes, repeatedly. I even sent them a letter from the Marketplace showing everything was fine. Before I could finish explaining, they transferred me back to the Marketplace and dropped the call. That was the final straw.I would never recommend this insurance to anyonenot even to my worst enemy. I will never use Ambetter again. Save yourself the time, stress, and money. This company is overpriced, incompetent, and completely disrespectful of peoples time and lives.

    Physical therapy was approved by them at one place. I ended up not likening the place only going twice and decided to go somewhere else for physical therapy and cant get it approved now. They have denied the claim for care over and over. Talked to them multiple times called old physical therapy place to make sure they closed that account. Now they say I have 3 claims open for physical therapy. I have only been to two offices and Im not trying to do anything but get physical therapy that was already approved at old office approved at new office. The automated system is terrible. The customer service lady refused to put me through to a manager just left me on hold even though I have jumped through all there hoops to get this fixed.

    Worst experience ever. My mom was rushed to ER where she was diagnosed with brain cancer. After her surgery, ambetter gave us another trauma, all the oncologists listed within 150miles were fake. Few doctors were listed as oncologists but were not, some never accepted ambetter, few listed as close to our zip were not even in the state. We called and called and they keep giving wrong doctors. It was so urgent, i was ready sell everything to self pay. Govt hospitals that accept people without insurance wont take her simce she has insurance. After many days of calling and pressing, they gave us one oncologist 20 miles away who is not listed on their site. The doctor is 70 plus year old ***** who does not care and who only talk and talk. She put in wrong prescription 3 times because of which my mom missed 1 week of dose. Cant wait to change insurance

    Wouldn't even cover a flu shot. Don't respond to emails.Even the 3 telling them where to shove their policy and to cancel it. All in Aug/Sept 2024.Still they won't cancel it. Greedy to the end.

    My mother passed away on 10-28-24. We notified them by phone on November 1 faxed and sent them a death certificate on November 12th. They keep calling asking for her, they are rude and obviously dont update anything. Opers, marketplace, ambetter and via benefits are all money laundering. They stoped reimbursing her premium and was owed almost ******. They all dropped the ball she finally received ******* and they are still holding over *****. Our family cant even properly grieve because of the mess we have to deal with them. The state of Ohio should be ashamed to have there former employees under this retirement and health plan. If it had been for us being observant she wouldve never known and they wouldve kept her money! I hope they are all investigated, we have an attorney and will get to the bottom of this opers is frauding there retirees

    I would leave zero stars if it was an option! Worst health insurance company ever! I wasted many hours on the phone with customer service without resolving anything. I even had to self wean from my anxiety and depression meds because of them not covering my visit AFTER the visit and I was stuck with the full bill. Another time they didnt let me or my provider know that my chiropractic visits were maxed out and several visits were not going to be covered and I would have to pay the full amount of several visits. Thankfully my chiropractic wrote it off and I was not charged for those. I am on disability and have a terminally ill spouse and cannot afford any extra anything right now. Dealing with this company has only added to the nightmare that is my life right now. They made my situation worse financially and my depression and anxiety are getting so much worse and I cant seek treatment because Im afraid Ambetter will s**** up and s**** me over yet again. I would not even recommend this company to my worst enemies!

    Do not get this insurance if you value your health. No one wants to accept them due to the way they do business. DONT DO IT.

    I signed my husband up for AmBetter using an insurance broker. Our Nurse Practioner wouldn't take the insurance so we have been self pay for the last year. (We are out over $1,000) Next, we tried 3 times to enroll in auto billing. Two of those times with our insurance agent. Never took effect. AmBetter representative tried to convince us that our credit card (with a generous credit line we have never gone over) refused the payment. We pay off the entire card balance every month. Called credit card up...there isn't any record of payment being submitted or rejected on dates AmBetter claims they tried to charge our credit card. They took 3 payments in a 5 week period and "forgot" to credit us a month. Now my husband has no health insurance as they suspended coverage, although he paid for the month. An audit will take 48 hours. Open enrollment is now and we will NOT be selecting this wretched insurance again.

    This is a horrible company! They took out FOUR months premiums in 1 day. I cant pay my bills until I get that money back! I have been since Aug 5th trying to get my money back!
