Date of transition is on April 6 of 2024. I got this sectional with recliners on each side and I was paying 200 monthly and on April 17th I paid 300 to help get the payment of 2000 paid off. On May 1st they took out 200 and on May 17 I was going to pay 400 and while talking with the acima payment ppl they said that I owe 4000 dollars because after June 5 that's what the payment was jumped up to because I didn't have the 2000 dollars paid off. I am a senior citizen just turned,66 last week and I felt like I was taking advantage of because I wasn't told if I didn't pay by a certain time my payment was jumped up higher. I only get income once a month and don't have anyone to help with payments because my husband passed away. I was hoping to get answers please and thank youBusiness response

After reading this e-mail, I wanted to reach out and let you know we use a third-party financing company named Acima. How this works is the customer comes in applies, then leases the furniture through Acima. I am the middleman that is selling the furniture to Acima, the customer is sent on their phone what the payment will be monthly, and they have to sign an agreement stating what payments with be and the day they will be withdrawn. This agreement also states information about an early pay off. This customer came into the store May 27, 2024 and explained what was going on, I called the customer on May 28, 2024 and I spoke with her as she explained she already called and spoke with a rep from Acima on what she needed to do with the furniture/lease. My understanding what the customer stated to me was that Acima rep told her to donate the furniture to a non-profit organization with a receipt in Acima name with the amount and send it back to them in the 14 business days. Customer stated she had this in an e-mail. This issue with the payment needs to be with Acima not with my company, the customer has to sign a lease agreement that states everything she needs to do to fulfill the lease and when using Acima for financing it's a lease agreement she is making with them.
