Took my bicycle in for repair On November 21, 2023. It's winter so I expressed no hurry on the repair.The owner became extremely hard to contact, tried to contact six times over 63 days though texting, and voice mail to his personal/business cell phone till he replied with excuse his mother had needed his attention. 11 days and four more attempts to contact he responded saying bike was ready. He had a few hundred dollars bill ready for me but when I tried the bike, he had not fixed the problem. He proposed he could keep putting parts to the tune of $882 and that should fix it including another item he suggested was needing to be replaced. Or I could buy a new bike from him. I chose to buy a new bike and gave $1619.63 via credit card as a deposit. He said it would be ready to pick up by Feb 10th. I tried to contact him 8 times from Feb 12 till he responded on Feb 21 when he said the bike had been delivered to Columbia ************** instead of Columbia MO but he would have it sent to him and I could still get it. Feb 27 after trying to reach him 8 more times I drove to the shop during business hours and the shop was closed (as I have found it to be in the past). At that I called Pedego Corporate Headquarters ************** and was told they have experienced problems with that store and told me to get my credit card to refund my deposit money. It seems likely that my credit card will come through with refunding my $1,619.63 but my bicycle is still in the shop and I'm clueless as to how to get it back or if I might have to pay for repairs that did not fix the problem.Customer response

I was able to make contact with *******. It is my belief that he must have read the proposed complaint BBB sent him on my behalf and the threat of it being posted really shook him up to pull the stops out to make sure I was made happy. I did get my bicycle back, he did not charge me for any of the work or parts used on the bike, and he volunteered that he is sending parts and upgrade materials for my bike to me at no charge at a value of $350.
Since he overwhelmed me with his efforts to rectify the situation I request that this case be dropped and not posted for others to be able to view.
