o start off, previous to yesterday I have had nothing but positive experiences with this dealership and everyone I have spoken with has been helpful and friendly. I bought a 2019 equinox elsewhere and wanted black emblems to update the look of the vehicle. I purchased the emblems from GM and had them shipped to Bob MCCosh for them to install. I brought my vehicle in yesterday to have the black bowtie emblems put on the front and back of the vehicle and I received a text about 45 mins later that it was ready for pick up. I had to pick it up after work, so after 5 and I glanced at them and they looked great. Fast forward to this morning, I am looking at them in the light and see there are two distinct scratches on the hood right above the emblem and they line up perfectly with what I would assume whatever tool they used to remove the old ones. Immediately called the dealership and sent them photos to work out a solution. Im then told that these were there prior to the work being done. I asked if they could provide pictures or some sort of proof to that effect and was told “we have to trust our guy when he says it was there, he’s a good kid” but provide me with nothing else even when I provided photos showing it was not there prior to bringing it in. I eventually speak with the service manager who tells me the same thing but they could offer a touch up as a courtesy. So they are willing to offer this even though they’re stating it “didn’t happen”at their facility when the damage very clearly lines up with where they worked on my vehicle. Very unfortunate that they can’t own up to their mistakes. I would suggest taking detailed photos of your vehicles before letting their service department touch your vehicle or go somewhere more trustworthy.Business response

After speaking with the Technician that installed the new plastic emblems on Ms. ******s vehicle he explained to me that the vehicle had existing scratches on the hood as well as on the rear hatch . The procedure to remove the plastic emblem is very simple, it does not require a special tool especially one cumbersome enough to scratch the paint as deep as Ms. ******s hood was scratched. The procedure to replace the emblems requires a small flat pocket screwdriver to pop the center of the emblem loose then two plastic push pins are released by hand, I will invite Ms ****** in and demonstrate this to her if she would like to see it performed, I believe if she sees it done in person she would understand it would be impossible to damage the hood to this extent during this repair. As I stated earlier this vehicle had scratches in the hood and rear hatch prior to the service visit, we did offer to touch up the scratches as a courtesy as we would if any customer had asked .
