On 6/15/2023 I went to Mark Manary OD for a eye exam. Then charge for the eye exam was 75 dollars. I was told my left eye scrip had changed a lot. I was seeing great out of my left eye so I wondered what was going on. That same day I bought lenses for my sunglasses for ******. When the lenses came in the left lens distorted my vision and I complained and was told it would take time to get used to them. For the first week I saw double whenever I took my glasses off. I never thought the exam was correct so eight months later I went to another eye doctor for a exam only to find out that my left eye scrip was almost the same as it had been in 2022! The exam and the lens were useless to me and I also bought a set of lens from another vendor for ****** and they are useless to me also. I am looking for Mark A. Manary OD to pay me $764.19 to cover my damages. There was also pain and suffering with the vision loss but it is hard to place a value on that. Without a refund I will be forced to seek legal advise.Business response

I am very sorry to hear about your difficulty with your eyeglass purchase.
I always strive to provide the best vision at distance and near with subjective testing for your glasses prescription.
If there is an issue with your new prescription and since it is a subjective test, I am always happy to recheck your prescription up to 60 days after the initial visit at no charge. However, your exam was on 06/15/23 and your complaint is dated 03/21/24. I do not sell glasses but most optical shops also offer a return/refund policy within a reasonable amount of time.
The changes made to your prescription on 06/15/23 did improve your vision in the left eye according to my exam records.
If you did not think the prescription was correct, as stated in your complaint, I do not understand why you would purchase additional glasses with that same prescription ($461.24) as stated in your complaint.

I am rejecting this response because: The only mistake I made was trusting that your eye exam was correct. When I tried on the sunglasses I found that they were distorting my vision. When I took them off I saw double for a minute or so.. I was told by your store personnel that it would take some time to get used to such a large change in script. Because of that I decided not to switch back and forth from the old and new scripts. That is why I bought new lens for my regular glasses so that I did not have to switch back and forth. It took my eyes over a week to get used to your faulty script. Although my eyes did get used to the script I never felt it was right and the new script of OS Sphere +1.75 proves me right that a mistake was made.
