Paid $750 to ******* for wedding planning services. She cut all communication, has not done any planning. After several failed attempts to contact her in March, I received an email from her “associate” emailed back saying ******* stepped away in February for a “family emergency”. Reviews online say otherwise, this is not her first time scamming someone and taking their money. Sometimes she didn’t even show up to the wedding. Signed contract in July, sent payment as a check but the check was not cashed until a month later. Had a zoom call with her in October and it’s been radio silent since. Sent a text with the termination later to find that she had blocked me.Business response

Hourly Wedding Planning Services
Most specifically related to Day of Coordination (on 10/22/2022)
Timeline Implementation and consultation (as requested the example was sent, we finalize within 10-12 weeks)
Decor consulting (she has not completed her design questionnaire required before proceeding)
Access to Personal Planning Drive (currently utilizing)
Comprehensive Day of Coordination Schedule (not within 10-12 weeks of your wedding)
Monthly Statements (have not spent her retainer)
Any other planning services requested verbally or in writing by the client (none other than a timeline requested and provided more than 10 weeks in advance of our typical Coordination clients)
While I'm sorry she feels as though we haven't fulfilled our end of the contract, the only item she has requested is an example timeline that she has already utilized and edited as recently as Tuesday March 28th.
She hired us to execute her wedding utilizing our expertise knowing we've had multiple successful weddings and trusted our process. All the negative reviews referenced were posted prior to her obtaining my services and dated 4years ago and were not brought up. We could have happily explained the situation. ******* asked prior to signing a contract, “if for any reason something comes up for you or you get sick, do you have a back up? Or do you always work with a team?” When we were unable to reach out we provided her with an additional team member. ******* did not reach out to utilize her for any planning questions or concerns. We have provided her with a link to our scheduler to set appointments via zoom, call or in person, however we have not gotten any requests for such.
Our retainer agreement is non refundable as it secures her date (as we only book 1 wedding per weekend we decline all future inquiries resulting in potential loss of business) and gives her access to the google drive (in which she has been using significantly this month and as recently as today). Please see the below excerpt.
A Retainer Fee MUST be paid in advance and is required, along with a signed contract, to book a date and time for a wedding. Retainer fees are not refundable should the wedding be cancelled for any reason. Payments are accepted in the form of cash, check, or any major credit/debit card. There is a $45 return check fee on all returned checks. While an unhappy client is not the desired outcome for either party, ******* decided these differences are irreconcilable and was unable to move forward in a professional manner with our services. We respect her decision to do such and sent a cancellation agreement. It is our understanding that she does not wish to sign.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
you did not fulfill your obligations as my wedding planner, and “stepped away” without informing me for over a month when you easily could have told me in the initial email on March 3rd. You had your chance to tell me then, but instead you shoved me off on to your assistant after multiple unanswered emails, texts, and phone call. You only stepped back in when I threatened to take legal action.
Sincerely,
******* ******
