PUBLIC NOTICE;

      Business response

      06/14/2024

      This customer signed a contract on May 11, 2024 to engage our help with his insurance claim.  Contracts have a 3-day cancellation period, with explicit instructions on how to cancel the contract.  On May 15, 2024 we met with his insurance company to negotiate the claim on his behalf after performing our preliminary work and analysis.  During the month of May we had regular communication with the insurance company and the customer.  On May 28, 2024 we met with the customer to discuss a statement the insurance company would need and to present them the initial insurance company advance check.  At no time during this process did the customer ever state that they did not want us to continue working on their behalf under the contract.

      It was not until June, when the insurance company was preparing settlement checks (that would include a fee due to us for our services) that the customer suddenly indicated they wanted to cancel and shouldn't have to pay us for our services.  They claim they tried to cancel the contract weeks earlier, but we received NO phone calls, even though we were in regular communication regarding the claim for almost a month, and we received NO written cancellation.

      In addition, the customer is claiming they faxed a cancellation notice when the contract clearly states where it must be mailed and postmarked in order to be valid.  We do not understand why the customer would allow us to work alongside them to negotiate a good settlement for almost a month, and then suddenly attempt to negate our contract.  We performed as promised under the contract and this complaint is unfounded.

    Some consumers may elect to not publish the details of their complaints, some complaints may not meet BBB's standards for publication, or BBB may display a portion of complaints when a high volume is received for a particular business.
