I hired them on 7/20/23 to install a Patio Cover to be completed on or before 10/22/23 at a cost of $9279.00. I gave ********************** a deposit of $3248.00 on 7/21/2023. ********************** and his crew Installed the patio cover on 9/19/2023 but one of the side beams was damaged so they had to order a new beam. ********************** and I agreed that I would give him a check for $5000.00 on 9/19/2023 and the remaining balance of $1031.00 would be paid when the new beam was installed and when the permit inspection was completed by Overland. The new beam came in and ********************** and his crew installed the beam on 11/1/2023. I reminded ********************** for the tenth time on 11/1/2023 to get Overland out for the final inspection. Before ********************** left my residence on 11/1/2023 he told me he would tape the permit paperwork to my front window so Overland could do the final inspection and he asked me to put a check for the balance in the mail. When ********************** didn't return to put the permit paperwork on the window by the end of the week I contacted ********************** via email on 11/4/2023 and advised him that I suspected he had not filed the permit paperwork with ******** as he assured me that he had on several occasions. I informed him that I was withholding the balance of $1031.00 until he was standing in front of me with all of my copies of the paperwork, including the final inspection by overland and my lien release and that I would appreciate it if he would complete it by the end of the week. He responded back to me via email on 11/5/2023 and told me it would be "resolved this week". I sent ********************** an email on 11/13/2023 asking for an update on the final inspection. He did not respond. I called ********************** and left him a voicemail today, 11/14/2023 and then I called the city of ******** to verify whether or not permit paperwork had been filed. They have no record of any permits for my address. He breached the contract by not filing permit paperwork.
