I hired a mechanic at Hills in ************ to fix my van. My van was taken to Main Street Mechanic without my permission. The owner there worked on my van without permission and now my van will not start. ************************* did not have permission to touch my van in a mechanical means.

******************************* asked me to work on her vehicle. She told me I would have to pick it up in ********, ** (roughly 30 minutes away) because it would not start. She said she left it in a parking lot. I refused service of this vehicle. She then asked another mechanic in our town. He went to pick the van up but it had already been towed off the parking lot. ********************* dropped the vehicle at Hills Automotive. While it was there, ******** called me and asked me to work on her van. I did not take the job. A few weeks later the owner of ***** brought the vehicle to my shop to borrow my lift to take a look at it. He worked on it and could not figure the issue out. He pushed the vehicle outside onto my back lot. He did ask my opinion and I did give him some options. I never physically touched or worked on the vehicle.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I would like to add that I never asked for ***************** to work on my van. He was asked by the other mechanic to tow it home, and the other mechanic asked him to work on it two months ago. ***************** didn't refuse service, he agreed to work on it for the other mechanic but then wouldn't answer phone calls.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

In march of 2022 my wife took her car here to get it fixed. It cost her alittle over $500 to fix the car. The shop did not give her a receipt for the money nor did they give a print out of what was fixed on the car. When I sent a message to the owner of the shop asking where the receipts was and what all was done to the car the owner acted like he didn’t even know what I was talking bout for a couple minutes. Up until this day he still refuses to provide me a print out of what work was done to vehicle or a receipt nor will he tell me where the parts of any came from or who’s name the warranty on the parts is in.

** ***** ******* contacted me via facebook messenger on Oct. 5, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in regards to work done on his spouse's vehicle. He asked what work had been completed on her vehicle. At that time, I could not find any messages between his spouse and I. After looking for a few minutes, I found the messages and sent *** ******* screenshots from 7 months prior of what his wife had requested be fixed on her vehicle along with the quotes that I sent her. He informed me that she did not get a receipt to which I replied we do not have a printer for receipts. They are hand written invoices and that she didn't get one because she did not ask for it. It is not uncommon for them to forget their receipts. He asked where I purchased the parts from to which I replied Auto Tire and Parts. He informed me that he would be by my shop the next day and I told him he was more than welcome to stop by. ** ***** ******* has still not been to my shop. His receipts are here.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
Seems odd that when talked to owner before contacting BBB they didn’t have no reciepts but then once I contacted BBB they supposedly have them now. Ive never been to a shop where you don’t get a receipt or a print out of what was done to the vehicle. There was screws that got broke off on each rotor which was the locking screws on front driver and passenger side that wasn’t fix and they car still has issues.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *******
