Prestige Power Washing offered our Neighborhood discounted services if they could get "enough" homes to participate in power washing. The asking price was $275. We participated in the discount and asked how much it would be to include/add our vinyl fence to the job and were quoted $25. The job was completed and we paid $300 in cash. The next day, we noticed that the back side of the fence had sections that were not cleaned so we called and were assured they would come back and clean it when they were in the area again. They came back the week of May 6th, 2023 and a week later, we received an invoice for $112. This was NOT new or additional work, this was rework for a job that was not completed correctly the first time. When we responded with this statement, we were told we were out of our minds to think they would do our fence for $25 even though that is what we agreed too previously and what we paid as part of the original $300, Neither of us have anything in writing - at No Time was there an agreement that to redo the fence it would cost additional money or that we would be charged additional money for the work they didn't do correctly the first time. We have received multiple rude text messages and as result, I offered to pay $50 to put an end to this. It is our belief that we do not owe ANY additional money whatsoever but, since we are reasonable people, I extended an offer. My offer was met with more statements about being out of our minds and, we have received a new invoice with late fees now totaling $128. We will not be paying the $128 invoice but, my good faith offer of $50 still stands though we do not feel we owe a single cent of additional money.

Prestige power washing did a group rate in ***** Meadow subdivision and we had 100% satisfaction from every home in there and we did nearly 40 homes. *** asked us to bid the one side of the fence so we gave him a very fair price of $25 dollars and did not wash the back side at all, so no spots were even missed here as it wasnt done nor quoted in the $25 dollars. He called saying he wanted the rest of the fence done which was the back section. So we made a trip out when we were in the area and did the other side of fence for him. Prestige power washing messaged him before starting the job (photo attached) and said we would give him the price or just email it when we are done there, (we previously messaged other times as well as far as communication so we knew this did get delivered.) He didnt respond questioning there would be a price until we emailed the invoice and finished the job. This fence wouldve normally had our minimum of $225 but we did the one side for only $25 and then only charged $125 but even still told him by text $100 would be ok since he was a repeat customer, no late fees were added. A 3% credit card fee was added if thats how he wanted to pay. We charged a very fair rate for this fence and discounted everything we did for him since he was a customer in the past. He still has not paid for the services performed.

I am rejecting this response because:

We have had multiple exchanges with this business about the the fact that this was rework and NOT newly added work. The fence was not done correctly the first time; however, the quoted cost was $25 as it was added on to the $275 standard price they were charging for the house washing.

Text Message One attachment Dated April 25th:
We called within 24 hours of the job completion to let the business know the fence was not cleaned as it should have been. The agreed upon price, including the fence was $300
this message is an acknowledgement that the fence still needed work but, unfortunately they had moved on to another area and we would have to wait for it to be done properly.

Text Message Two Dated May 11th:
We were out of State on vacation when the company was able to get back to our fence. We had turned off our water to the house as a preventative measure (prevent flooding) and had no water access for them. We spoke to our next door neighbor who agreed to allow the company to utilize their water spigot for FINISHING the fence. The words used by the company are FINISHING the fence not adding the fence. Had the work been done correctly the first time, this wouldn't even be something we are discussing. We only called because the fence that we paid to have cleaned was done so poorly.

      Text Message Three:
After having received an invoice for $112, we exchanged messages with the company explaining our confusion. I then reiterated that we were part of the neighborhood special and the agreed upon price for the fence was $25. Adding to that, if the front of the fence and part of the back of the fence was $25, why on earth would fixing the back of the fence cost us $112? To put an end to the harassing messages, I OFFERED to pay an additional $25 for fixing the back, and $25 for the hassle of coming back but on principle we don't feel we actually owe one *****. The company is now adding late fees to the invoice so it has increased to $128.75. I will not be paying an invoice in excess of $120 to fix a job they did not finish. There is a history of treating Customers poorly - we got caught up the neighborhood special and didn't check reviews. We are not the only household that has had issues with rude messages.

      Sincerely,

      ***************

Prestige Power Washing had come out to do this house with a discount for $50.00 ***** and *** spoke in person about washing inside of fence only, the back was never mention per their conversation (hence the extremely fair price of $25.00). When *** seen the back wasn't wash I said I can have ***** come back out to do the backside. I also text earlier that morning that I will let him know price or just send the invoice and again he never replied (like he did in previous text shown) to that or we would have held off. The current invoice for back side never showed a late fee but a 3% CC fee if paid online. Also, *** is not a new customer we did his place back in 2020 and he wanted us out again because he was happy with last work and even offered the same rate even though everything has tripled for our company like everything else. In addition, Prestige Power Washing has 640 reviews and a 4.9 rating (we have more 5-star reviews than any other company in STL). We do not cheat anyone or do poor work and the response from our customers shows just that. This was a conversation that was first held in person unfortunately when *** only asked for the inside to be done and that is the work ***** performed as it would've  been easier to do whole fence while he was there instead of coming back so he definitely did what he was asked in the first conversation held. Unfortunately, there is no documentation saying *** did only ask for one side to be washed but we were told what to do and that's what we did for him.

The business and I have come to an agreement and I would like to drop the complaint.

I was a repeat customer in May 2022 for a whole exterior power wash and paid $500 (my house is 1200 sq ft). There was an immediate problem because ***** didn't bring his tanks full of diluted cleaning solution and he had to use my well water to fill his tanks, but my well pressure was not high enough to rapidly fill his cleaning solution tanks. The first time he power washed my house he brought his own full tanks, and told me that he always tells his workers not to go to a job without bringing their own tanks with enough solution to perform the work. I suggested that we should just reschedule the job but he said no. The job took him longer than normal because of the pressure problem, and my house was not cleaned well like it was the first time, but I was willing to let it go. I asked him if there were a lot of leaves in the gutters (I have gutter guards), and he said that he flushed the leaves down the downspouts. Only the leaves were not flushed out the downspouts. They only stuffed the downspouts so full that now every time it rains the water only cascades off my roof and down along my siding, which risks water damage to my house. I called and spoke to the receptionist and explained the problem. She said ***** would call me back. He did not. I called and left messages and didn't get a response. Finally I was able to get ***** on the phone. He told me he works too many hours and if I "wanted him to fix this for free I would have to wait a long time for it". Then, as I was talking, he hung up the phone on me in the middle of a sentence. I was polite to him, but wanted him to fix the problem he created. He was not polite to me, which was unfortunate. There were more leaves stuffing my gutters in 2020 when he washed my house, and my downspouts were not rendered dysfunctional after the power washing. He should have provided the same service in 2022. I want my downspouts cleared.

The lady hired me to clean her roof and siding. I always go above and beyond for my customers so I cleaned her front and back deck at no charge. I also cleaned her wheelchair ramp and the rugs on there. She lives in 50 year old mobile home trailer. There were leaves and debris all over the roof and decks. She started complaining about the gutters, but she did not hire me to clean her gutters and I did not charge her for it. I explained to her that I only did the extra work just to be a nice guy. Again, I go above and beyond with the jobs I do, but I shouldn't be complained about for something I wasn't hired to do.
