I contacted this company repair the washer at my daughter's place. They quoted me $354.70. They came out and then he told me in order to fix it they would have to charge an additional $133 to fix it. I had to pay $157 for a service call. I sat there all day just for him to tell me he couldn't fix it. I got an email from them stating I cancelled. I only cancelled after he said it would costs $133 more. I have documents with this information.

The estimate provided for this repair included replacing a worn Hub.  Once the technician attempted to replace the worn Hub, he discovered advanced stages of rust below the machine Wash Plate which could not be detected prior to reaching this far into the disassembly process.   The technician offered to replace the Wash Plate and finish the repair only charging the additional cost of the part no additional labor was being requested.   I'm sorry *** ********* washer needed more repair then initially determined however we did over to assist with the additional repair by only charging the cost of the part and absorbing all the additional labor cost.   Estimates are provided to be within a reasonable amount of the final completed repair cost:  on rare occasions, hidden or on foreseen condition exist which exceed the estimate provided.  At that time, a customer is made aware of the additional repair needs and provided a new estimate, the customer then determines if they wish to continue or stop the repair.   Our technician with my approval offered a discount on the work needed to complete this repair, *** ******* elected to stop repair.  If ** ******* has reconsidered we will honor the revised estimate price provided by our technician

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Why would I agree to the $354.70 but not the $319.95? They are now saying I cancelled because of the new invoice, which is cheaper. This makes no sense. I want them to clarify why they won't honor the original work and invoice. Can you please clarify what discount they offered? I was never offered anything. I signed a phone, but it wasn't for this invoice.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *******

We contacted St Louis Appliance Repair to repair the water pump on a SPEED QUEEN washer. A tech was finally sent on 26 Jan and upon inspection noticed that the transmission was leaking oil. I was charged $218.60 for parts and labor. The transmission was under warranty and the part was ordered. Transmission was replaced on 10 Feb, and on 11 Feb the unit made loud noises and did not pump out the water. The same tech arrived late on 11 Feb and said that he had lost a part the day before which was found at the NEW water pump, removed and the tech said he "inspected the pump" and it was not damaged. I was billed $162.95 labor for the transmission.

In response to the complaint of the ********’s, I would be happy to address their concerns about the pump by replacing that piece at no charge.  Although no apparent damage was caused by the debris found in their pump it is conceivable that undetectable harm was caused thus I’m willing to have our technician install a new pump at no charge.  The monies paid for replacing the transmission will remain as charged.

If this is satisfactory to the ********’s they can reach me at ************ to set up the pump replacement.

We bought a Maytag Bravos 4.3 HE Top Load Washer June 2016. The 10-year Major Appliance Limited Warranty stamped on the washer is a joke! Maytag would not honor this limited warranty. St. Louis Appliance Repair Group is an authorized dealer for Maytag. This company is a joke too! July 27, 2021, we scheduled service with St. Louis Appliance Repair to repair our washing machine. The service technician was a nice guy but lack the technical knowledge to diagnose and repair our washing machine correctly. On the first visit, the service technician did a preliminary diagnosis and told us we need to replace the suspension rods which later he discovered was not needed. On the second visit, the service technician diagnosed the Cam kit was defected. Then, after retuning a third time, the service technician finally listened to what we had told him on the first visit that the noise problem seemed to be becoming from the impeller/stator. The service technician did not listen and consider what we shared with him about the noise during the initial visit which resulted in the technician installing an unnecessary part. After the third trip, the technician finally discovered that the problem was the noise coming from beneath the impeller/stator. After hearing the noise again, the technician tried to remove the impeller. In doing so, he broke the impeller into four parts. The technician stated the bolt attached to the impeller should have been easily removed with the impeller. instead the bolt stayed attached to the washing machine basket. When he called his manager … he was told to tell us it was not cost effective to repair the washing machine because the bolt had to be grinded out to see what was causing the noise. At that point, we were informed there was nothing else that could be done. Now, we were left with an unnecessary part that we had bought, a broken impeller and an unrepairable washing machine that had been broken since July 2021. Service Refund $268.72.
