I brought my already repaired radiator in for new repairs under warranty and got a $300 bill after being told they would call before moving forward and now they have my radiator until I pay. The owner **** even went as far as to call me a liar and told me to bring cash because he knows I'm the type to bounce a check......wowBusiness response

On 8/20/2021, ***** ******* purchased a new radiator. On 7/26/2022, ***** ******* brought in a radiator for repairs. As you can see in the attachments, they filled out and sign the check out form before dropping off the radiator for repairs. At the bottom of the form, you can clearly see we do not hind the policy of checking out your radiator or other parts. It clearly states: "I hereby authorize Affton Radiator & A/C Services Inc. to perform services to the above part/parts. I understand that all basic cleaning and testing will include a check charge and I accept responsibility for these charges. After testing is completed, a better estimate of time and price can be given. With that being said. In no shape or form did the customer document they thought the radiator was a possible warranty. We went through normal routine with cleaning, testing, and inspecting. During the inspections process, we at times have to make minor repairs to parts to see if they are even repairable or rebuildable. And that is all part of the inspections process. That is exactly how this took place. We then contacted the customer and discuss the problem with the radiator. The customer then told us, "well that radiator should be covered under warranty. We looked into this and since the radiator was purchased with in a 1 year period we started the warranty process. This radiator does come with a 1 year limited warranty. The warranty covers manufacture defect. But the warranty DOES NOT cover wear and tare, negligence, corrosion, or damage. In order to receive warranty on a new radiator, the manufacture wants proof of all rubber mounts or isolators that they were replace at the time of the new radiator being installed. We asked for proof on the rubber mounts and isolators, and ***** could not provide this information. Therefore, the warranty is not granted and we had a charge for the cleaning, testing, inspecting, and minor repairs. Which you can see the invoice is attached as well.
The reason we asked for cash only in this situation, is the representative of ***** ******* got very defensive and use vulgar language with our team and myself on the phone. Usually when people get like this they will cancel checks or charge back the credit card, therefore we get robbed. I do know if is our right to only ask for cash on a customer by customer basis.
Bottom-line is we have ***** *******s radiator repaired and finished. We can pick up the radiator after they pay with cash only and get their truck back on the road making money.
