I dropped off my 2001 ****** Xterra to have the VSS (speed sensor) replaced on 4/14/2024. I provided the new part and a slide hammer. I discussed the job with the mechanic ******* and provided him my phone number with instructions to call me if job was going to exceed $400....Shortly after dropping off my vehicle I noted the business doesnt keep regular hours and no one is there for days. On April 30th I noticed the business was occupied and spoke to ****** He told me he had only worked on the vehicle the first day it was there and had broken off the old speed sensor. I crawled under the truck and noted that the old speed sensor was broken in half and a cable bracket was hanging loose. I discussed with ***** settling the bill for labor and taking my truck. He said he would work on it Monday May 3rd and try to extract the old sensor...I told him I would pick up the truck May 4th. Well, the business has remained unoccupied since that conversation. In further research I discovered the business isnt licensed to operate. I need my truck back and my next actions pending any resolution via BBB assistance is to file a criminal complaint
