Burkhart Construction was hired to complete a garage remodel. The company provided a written estimate for the job which states in a highlighted section "THIS IS ANTICIPATED COST ONLY - ACTUAL TO BE BILLED AT $42.50 PER MAN HOUR AND COSTS DIVIDED BY .8". However, when the contractor invoiced for job, they charged $10,200.00 ($8500.00 for "**** ***** ***********" plus an additional $1700.00 / 20% premium on top of that which is included in the "BCI Contractor Fee") for a subcontractor they hired to furnish labor for the job. The laborer from **** ***** *********** spent 69 hours on-site to complete the work, and we should have been billed $2932.50 for his labor instead of $10,200.00. I am effectively being charged $147.83 per hour instead of $42.50 that is stated on the original estimate. I have contacted the business several times to resolve the issue, but have gotten nothing but insults in response. I am requesting the business adjust the charges for the "**** ***** ***********" and the "BCI Contractor Fee" on the invoice, and I believe the charges should be as follows: *** ****** $3029.50 ****** *******l $375.45 ******* ****** $16.84 **** ***** *********** (Labor 69 hours @42.50 per hour) $2932.50 *** ****l $1897.75 ***** $1884.14 BCI Contractor Fee (20% of materials) $1440.74 BCI Labor $488.75 Total: $12065.67 Total that has been billed: $20118.35 Difference between billed amount and what we believe we actually owe: $8052.68 I have included a copy of the original estimate and the invoice we received, and any assistance is greatly appreciated.Business response

I did a $20,000 job for him and he was happy with it. I haven't been paid anything yet. He is not responding to phone calls and I am seeking legal action.Customer response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: The job is far from perfect, but we are ready to move on. However, we continue to dispute the amount of money were billed for labor on this job, and payment that we believe is owed has been sent to the business.Sincerely,
