DeVry University provides technology-based post-secondary education, continuing adult education, and training and consulting to industry. Two divisions comprise DeVry--the Institute and the Training and Services divisions. The Institute division is composed of 11 technical campuses which offer a Master of Project Management, and undergraduate degree, diploma and certificate programs in Business Operations, Computer Information Systems, Electronics Technology, and Telecommunications. (Not all programs are offered at each Institute). The division also provides marketing and administrative services to National College (based in Evanston, IL) for degree completion and masters degree programs. The Training and Services Division offers off-the-shelf and customized on-site instruction in technology-based fields, computer software seminars and consulting services. History: In 1967, Bell & Howell Education Group (renamed DeVry Inc. in August of 1983) acquired DeVry Institutes of Chicago and Toronto, and as of 1983 owned 11 campuses. DeVry's venture with National College of Education began in 1985. In 1986, Yourdon, Inc. was acquired (software training and consulting subsidiary) and agreements with Vasco Corp. and American Financial Consulting Co. were consummated for the marketing of training courses. DeVry offers the following programs (not all institutes offer all programs) and degrees are not awarded at Canadian or Woodbridge, NJ campuses): Telecommunications Installer Certificate (Evening school), Electronics Technician Diploma, Digital Electronics Technician Diploma (Evening school) Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Programming for Business Diploma (Evening diploma - Canadian Institutes only), Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Information Systems, Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, Bachelor of Business Operations (Columbus institute only), Bachelor of Science degree in Business Operations, Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Management, Master of Project Management degree. Accreditation: DeVry is accredited by the Commission on Institutes of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. This accreditation also includes the Master of Project Management at the Chicago Institute. All U. S. Institutes are also accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the National Association of Trade and Technical Schools (NATTS). U. S. degree programs in Electronics Engineering Technology and Technician programs are accredited by the Association of Certified Engineering Technicians (except those at the DeVry Institutes of Technology in Lombard, Los Angeles (City of Industry), and Woodbridge. The Electronics Engineering Technology and Technician programs are accredited by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) and the Electronics Technician diploma (evening school) is partially accredited by (OACETT). DeVry/Toronto's Electronics Engineering Technology and Technician is used as a basis to apply for certification following completion of OACETT'S practical experience requirements. DeVry/Calgary's Electronics Engineering Technology and Technician programs are accredited by the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists (ASET). DeVry operates campuses in Atlanta; Chicago and Lombard, IL.; Columbus, Ohio; Dallas; Kansas City, MO.; Los Angeles; Phoenix; Woodbridge, NJ; and Calgary and Toronto, Canada. DeVry offers a student career counseling/placement service, assistance in locating housing, financial aid, and part-time employment. As in the case of all legitimate trade and proprietary educational institutes no guarantee of employment is made to graduates and students.
