After the retirement of my dentist in 2022, I was referred to Mitchell Hopkins DDS. From my first appointment in July 2022 it was a very negative experience. In order to obtain a discount on the very high prices quoted, I signed up for the Hopkins Dental Plan at a cost of $400, which provided reduced pricing and two cleanings per year. I had a cleaning done in September 2022, then I made an appointment for the second cleaning in April 2023. About one hour prior to that appointment I received a phone call at home, advising me that this cleaning would be deep tissue at an additional cost of $960; of course, I was offended since I had never agreed to their deep tissue program. I informed your representative that I would not make the appointment, since I just wanted the standard cleaning covered by the Plan. Subsequently, I decided that HDH was not the right practice for me and demanded that $200 (for the second cleaning) be refunded to me. HDH refused. In my first visit to HDH I was absolutely shocked to hear your staff member badmouth the work done by my previous DDS, a respected local dentist. UNPROFESSIONAL! As far as I am concerned, Hopkins did not honor the terms of its Dental Plan and cheated me out of $200. A VERY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE.
