Getting your medical records from their system is a nightmare. They use MRO Corp in PA for medical records storage. Both St Luke's and this company are incompetent.

SLHS Release of Information follows all appropriate guidelines for releasing records. We do apologize you did not have a good experience. After review, the request sent on 1/18/24 and received/logged on 1/19/24 was processed in accordance to HIPAA Patient Rights of Access and placed in the mail (per the authorization to requester) on 1/24/24. This was a 5 calendar day or 3 business day turn around time. We were not offered other electronic methods to deliver the records to decrease the turn around time.Review from Thomas F

Be cautious if you are ever scheduled for surgery at St ****** on the Plaza. I wasn't forewarned. While being prepped for surgery, a staff member came in, handed me a plastic bag, and demanded that I remove my watch, wedding *************** and place these items in the bag she had with her. I did not realize at the time that this was a robbery. I never saw that bag again! When I asked for my items, I was given answers such as: "You received those items back" and "You have no proof that you wore those items in". They claimed that the loss was MY FAULT because I was not supposed to "bring valuable items into the hospital", but no one I know would consider personal effects that one is wearing to be "valuables". And why would I be required to remove these things when the surgery was on THE OPPOSITE END of the body?Before I entered the hospital, I took the cash out of my wallet and left my iPhone behind. I walked into the hospital, with nothing except my ************ personal effects. I had never had ANY surgery to the lower part of my body where I was expected to remove my wedding ********* watch! I guess I should have refused! Some people can't get a wedding band off of their finger! I was given a bag and commanded to remove these items. I did not understand at the time that this was a robbery. When I called THE VERY NEXT DAY, the excuses began! The possibility that I might be correct was not even considered. My opinion of St ******, which used to be stellar, had been drifting downward over the last couple of years. This incident has caused that opinion to plummet. Any other surgery that I need will be done elsewhere. I would advise others to learn from my experience and move their surgery to another location, or you might be robbed as well. You won't know that you've been robbed until it's too late. You might think, as I did, that the staff member was simply following hospital protocol.
