We entered into contract with ***************************** owner of TueJays Remodeling LLC on December 10, 2021 to complete the demolition of ******************************** of our home. On December 13, 2021 the project began & he was paid $25,000 which was 25% of the total job per the contract. There was very little progression on the *********** were numerous times that the contractor nor his employees showed up to work. We requested documentation for the warranty, *************** that have not been provided to date. January 13th he requested another payment & per the contract all of the first floor flooring should be completed and the basement framed. We did not feel comfortable giving another full payment as he had not completed the work for a full payment. We agreed to pay a partial payment of $12,500 in a cashiers check for materials & permits. To date we do not have permits & the first floor flooring is not completed. The ****** pipes were removed from the master bathroom and they are now missing. The project is supposed to be completed by ********** is March, without permits the project will not be done by April. We had another conversation about incomplete work & began requesting weekly to do lists. February 13th the contractor asked us for another payment to complete the upstairs. We were not comfortable with this so we asked again for the receipts to include materials, bids and labor. We requested a meeting to come up with a plan. We meet & ****** again didn't provide the requested documents and after 45 minutes said there would be no resolution if he didn't get another payment. He wasn't agreeable to our plan of buying the remaining materials for our upstairs project and then paying him a hourly rate to continue the project. He then informed us he was not going to work the week after he had taken off 3 days the previous week. His conversation became aggressive and we changed the locks, consulted legal counsel who suggested we end our contract with TueJays Remodeling LLC.
