I have been working with this company, mostly ****, on a deck rebuild since Summer 2021. I have requested several adjustments to the deck, and most recently discovered that a wedge of wood was put under a piece of composite to make the stairs appear leveled. I have also paid a considerable amount (Check #*** on June 25th $4800 and check #** $23,150 on 10/12 and have not received an itemized invoice or receipt. Because of the poor craftsmanship and dishonest approach they've taken, I am forced to hire a new contractor to come fix the job Summit Outdoor Designs did, as I cannot trust them to do things properly or safely. They are requesting I still owe them $2600, however I believe they should dismiss this balance due to the fact that I need to hire someone to fix their incomplete job. The client made it very clear in her intial formal coorespondence she was terminating all future work with Summit Outdoor Designs. She would not allow our personnel on site to rectify any issues. She is also refusing to pay the outstanding invoice. Her complaints are legitmate, and relatively easy to fix. But for the sake of ease, we are writing her outstanding balance off as bad debt, and moving on per her request.
I have attached our email chain with her regarding this matter, and the invoices for the project.
