      In June 2024, I signed a contract with Asphalt Paving & Concrete to create a concrete patio in my backyard. That contract included excavating the area to a depth of 6 inches and installing 6 inches of concrete. What was ultimately installed was a concrete patio that is 6 inches above ground on one side of the yard and 24 inches above ground on the other side.When Asphalt Paving & Concrete started the project, I noticed that due to the slope in my backyard one side seemed like it would be installed higher than the other. I asked the workers but they did not speak English very well so I called the project manager, ***** *. Puff. He confirmed they would excavate 6 inches of dirt and pour 6 inches of concrete across the patio as we agreed on.That proved to be incorrect as the concrete patio was never installed flush to the yard but instead 6 inches above ground on one side and all the way up to 24 inches on the other side.After Asphalt Paving & Concrete left, I reached out to them saying we would need some steps to safely get off the back patio due to height from the yard. ******* response was to send me a quote for $2,480 without ever revisiting our property or inspecting the ****** fact, ***** only came to the house once in the process to give the initial estimate. He never came to inspect the job, didn't come back out after I sent him photos of the problem and I haven't heard back from him since rejecting his new estimate for the stairs.Other companies have quoted us for a significant amount of money to build stairs for the patio so I'm submitting this to see how we can move forward with Asphalt Paving & Concrete to fix their mistake.

      At the end of November in 2022, this company took out the old front sidewalk at my home and replaced the concrete per contract. However, by April 2023, the front slab had cracked across the middle. I emailed the company April 26th asking why the concrete had cracked. There was no response. I sent a letter to the company dated May 26th. No response. I was disappointed there has been no response. I was originally upset the workmen cut down a bush, even though the estimator told me all I had to do to prepare the landscaping was to cut back the hostas. I with held $140 from the final payment because of this. Mr **** responded to my letter of January 2023 saying we would review this in June. He never called or emailed concerning this issue after I emailed and sent a letter about the cracks. The concrete work was supposed to correct the cracked concrete. Now I have new cracked concrete. I

      We do not warrant a hairline crack.  Unfortunately any attempt to repair this area will make it stand out more.  Also the customer still owes us $140.00.

      I contracted this company in Aug. 2022 and they agreed to put it an asphalt driveway by Sept. 2022-Oct 2022. They did not do this. They had to take out the old driveway and replace it. I contacted them in April 2023. They came out on April 23, 2023 and dug it up and I have a rear entry garage. They did not show up on Friday as they said so I called the office and they said they would come out on Monday or Tuesday. I kept calling the office and then was told I will let them know and a whole week went by. I was parking on the street. I told them I want this done. On Wednesday, I got a call from ****** from the company and he apologized and said it will be Friday. I said I want this done and agreed last August 2022 and they still haven't come to pour the driveway in. I would like for them to finish the job and pour the asphalt driveway.

      We want to get the job completed as much as the customer.  The issue is the clay soil beneath the rock base.  It has to harden up, otherwise the soil will pump through the rock and then her drive would not hold up.  It should be towards the end of this week weather permitting.

      THE COMPANY I CONTRACTED TO DO THE WORK, FINALLY CAME OUT LAST THURSDAY TOCOMPLETE THE WORK.  AFTER THE LEFT I DISCOVERED THE JOB WAS NOT SATISFACT0RY . I CALLED TO ASK THAT THEY COME OUT AND INSPECT THE COMPLAINT.  I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REPLY TO THE LEFT TELEPHONE MESSAGE..I VERY MUCH WISH TO HAVE THIS MATTER SETTLED . THIS IS A COSTLY AMOUNT OF PAYMENT. PLEASE HAVE THEM CONTACT ME ABOUT WHEN SOMEONE WILL FINISH THE WORK.

      Last July this company put in a driveway for me and now the concrete is falling apart in the driveway. I first reached out in November 2022 about the issue and have made 8 phone calls and text up to now to the contractor and was told he was going to come out and check on it. The contractor came out and said he took pictures of the issues. He was supposed to meet me but came at a time I was unavailable and I did not get a chance to show him all of the damage. Since then I received phone calls about the issue but they have not come out to fix my driveway. I have a 1 year warranty.

      I contracted for them to build a patio. They were to take everything away and tear a retaining wall down and replace both. They left a space near the house. It started 2 away from the house. It extended to 8 inches. They did not pour the concrete evenly. They actually poured this in December, which is late in the season to pour concrete. I have kept contacting them and they continue to tell me they will get the info to the owners. They sent a guy to mix and fill in. It had already started to crack. They sent someone else out when I wasn't here and the patched it but he patched it in white and it is started the same day he tried to fix it. The concrete is a disaster. They mentioned in the contract that is should be a smooth service.

      In May 2021 I received invoice for work done on my garage. I had thought the work performed was actually done by the ** ***** ****** ********** since it was mostly done in the alley and the company had not contacted me prior to or during the work as I was promised. I refused to pay stating it bore no relation to the repairs cited in the contract. When they came back, the superintendent, who I suspect was responsible for the initial screw-up, was so belligerent I finally told them to leave. I recently recontacted the company since they made the problem worse but have heard nothing since their response to the original e-mail.

      See attached correspondence with Mr. ********.  Prior to receiving this complaint, I had been working on resolving this issue.  I offered to meet with Mr. ******** and/or remove the bump.

      I am rejecting this response because: contract still not fulfilled.  Removing bump does not address "Approximately 6 square yards of area to be paved" per the contract and still does not address the drainage issue.

      My browser was not able to open the attached pdf so it is possible the business did say they would address the problem.

      I will be out of town for three weeks beginning May 28, 2022.

      We are willing to return the customers money as we do not believe we can rectify the drainage issue because his garage floor is lower than the alley and we cannot make water run up hill.

      They came out and they did a driveway. They completed it on 7/27/21. A couple of weeks before, they had torn up our yard and left it. Shovels and other things were left. After they completed the job, I contacted the manager. I have pictures of work that was not done. They said they would make it work. The driveway had holes and circles. It was very rough. He was to come back in September to stain. The staining was to start in September until now. No one has been out to correct this. I have not been able to contact anyone. They us a past due bill and that is not going to work. The total amount was $6176. The field manager came out and saw chipping in our driveway and circles all the way to the street. There is discoloration. I called to have him explain the bill and he never reached back out to me.

      We started Mrs. ****** job on good faith that she would send in the 1/2 down that is on the contract.  At this time we are not able to rectify the concrete work as they have never paid the 1/2 down per our contract.  Once the 1/2 down is paid we will take car of any issues.

      For the beginning of the job you left us without 2 weeks of calling and with the yard being torn up. We had to call to see what was going on and we were told the crew was sickWe just wanted communication. We started project in July 8. I have new evidence from beginning to end that I will provide to BBB. All we are asking for him to do is leave us alone. We are willing to give him deposit down and move on with our lives with no warranty. Just take your half down and not warranty it or we will pay all of it and you will need to pour all new concrete. The total was $6017 and all he said was he would put a bandaid on it. We have never drove on it. It is very cheap concretepoor workmanship, and poor management.

      We told them that we would make a final payment of half down $3088.00.  And then we don't want them to do any more work for us.  We have had ****** ****, the field engineer, come to our home on 7/22 on the completion.  He has seen and we have told him about the condition of the work and he said he would take care of it.    I have pictures that I'll share with the BBB.
