Back in February I talked to *****(the owner of Esh Automotive) about installing an engine in my daughters 2006 **** Explorer. I had told him several times that I wanted a remanufactured engine but if I couldn't get that I'd like a rebuilt. He worked up a quote for a remanufactured engine and it was going to be $7250 with a 3yr/100,000 mile parts only warranty. I received a text from him later saying it was going to take ******* days before he would be able to get a remanufactured engine but he had a ****** mile one that he should be able to get the same warranty on it too. So I asked him how much and he said it was going to be the same cost. Now since I was asking someone to install an engine in my truck I had done my own research to make sure I wasn't going to be paying too much. A remanufactured and a rebuilt engine should cost around $3400. With the remanufactured being slightly higher. So when he said it was the same cost I came to believe that it was a rebuilt. An engine from a salvage yard like the one he installed would cost no more than $1400. And that's on the very high end. So it would be reasonable to assume that I was getting a rebuilt. I've been trying for the last month or so to get paperwork from ***** about the engine. I need to know the engine number, proof of mileage, and anything else that would be included on a real receipt. I've also been asking for warranty information on the engine. He keeps changing the terms. It started out as a 3yr/100,000 mile parts only then a 3yr/36,000 mile internal parts only and then finally 3yr/100,000 mile internal parts only. Even though I've given him plenty of opportunities he will not work with me to solve this problem.
