On August 9, 2021, I purchased a vehicle from this dealership which was said to have no problems. Inspection slip said horn did not work but was repaired and then passed reinspection. After less than 9000 miles, tires and brakes were in such bad shape that my future father-in-law who is a retired mechanic and used to do vehicle inspections said he did not believe the dealership did a thorough inspection and may have even falsified it just to get a sale. I called the sales department to see if they could resolve the issue and they said they could not help me since the vehicle was not under warranty, and there was no way to tell how soon the tires or brakes would go out. Left rear brake was inspected but car is front wheel drive and an experienced mechanic would have known that the front brakes would have been more likely to wear down first. I have photos of the tires and the scrap of metal that used to be part of the brake pad but now doesn't even look like it ever even belonged on a car. I purchased this car for work and could have been in an accident due to their negligence. The vehicle I traded in was valued at over $7000 and this one was listed at $4000 but I am now told it is only worth $400.

As you can see from our attachments the vehicle was sold as is and in good faith and customer was aware of this.  We only became aware of any issues 3 month's after purchase and almost 9,000 miles.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The mechanic inspected the left rear brake. Considering that the vehicle is front wheel drive, he should have inspected one of the front brakes. There is no way this vehicle would have passed the inspection if he would have done his job properly. I had the front brakes replaced and am still having problems so I feel that there is likelihood that the inspection was falsified, which I will be discussing with the Missouri Highway Patrol as well as the Missouri Department of Revenue. I have also been in touch with an attorney.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *******
