I was looking for a contractor to redo the drywall in my garage (walls and ceiling), put installation in the walls, paint, and possibly put up trim.On 3/23/2023 ******************************* from All Family Home Improvements reach out to me to setup an appointment for a quote.His partner ******************************* showed up on 3/31/2023 and quoted me for $2,200 for the whole project. I put $1050 as a down payment. We then scheduled for their team to come out on 4/28/2023 and 4/29/2023.On 4/28/2023 I texted at 9:28 am, 9:50 am, and 11:11 am asking if everything was okay and if they were on their way. At about 11:15 am I got messaged back stating they were running behind and that'd they'd call me in a little bit. After they didn't call me back, I called & texted at 2:55 pm and again at 6:47 pm. Checking if they'd be okay with coming on 4/30/2023 instead of 4/29/2023 and checking if everything was alright. I didn't hear back so I texted on 4/29/2023 at 6:47 pm and again on 4/30/3023 at 9:14 am and 11:46 am. I then got a message back stating they don't work the weekends even though they previously agreed to those dates. ******** then said he'd come out on 5/11/2023 and 5/12/2023.On 5/11/2023 they texted at 12:08 pm that they were on their way. The started tearing down the drywall in the garage. Stayed for 2.5 hours and tore down a third of the drywall. They then said there was black mold and needed more money. They got an additional $1900 and said they'd be back for the entire week of 5/15/2023. They no called and no showed like before. Pictures of how they left my garage with trash all over On 5/22/2023 I said I'd like a refund because of the lack of communication and the no shows (it had totaled up to 8 days of work I took off (without PTO and losing $2048 from work payment).I was told on 6/5/2023 and again on 6/28/2023 that the check was sent. Hire company to replace gutters. They came out tore a few pieces off, left a mess didn’t clean up anything. They left said need advance for material we gave to them. They came up with a story on why they haven’t been back. Kept calling them then another story about having vivid and would come after well. First of all that was one person not a crew but anyway they never came back. They were unfortunately paid in cash approx $2700.00. We have receipts. They left a mess left thier ladders would not return calls. Finally by email said they would refund. We said wanted cash back the same way they were paid. He refused said “checks in the mail”. Alas no check ever showed up. Contacted them again. Still no answer or refund. We were scammed. We also had to hire another company to replace our gutters as well to fix what this company had damaged as well as clean up the mess they left. Cost was double. Also new contractor for a hammer they left on room along with damage they had done to try to get more work and money from us. Fraud all they way around. We want our money back as well as a storage fee for equipment they let here.Business response

We did not damage anything on the property we have pictures of before and after we started the work on the job replacing gutters found some other damage and brought to customers attention customer approved more work we spent three days on site working on customers work order after speaking with the customer all parties decided to go with a different gutter while working on the site we ended up having a family emergency that the customer was made aware of after some time with communication customer decided to cancel contract we offered to pro rate the job and refund the customer at pro rate we sent a check registered mail where the customer would have to sign for the letter ended up coming back to us sent another one same thing we will be reaching out to the customer tomorrow to send another checkCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because: business response is not the truth. They did not do work on our home. They pulled down a little piece of the gutter and left a mess in our home. They caused more damage that wasn’t there. There wasn’t any damage until they made the damage and we didn’t agree upon that anyway. We did not agree to go with another company with them. We did that after the fact after they destroyed our home and didn’t show up. We never received any registered letter from them. They would be proof of that if we did. Have them show you proof as they never sent us anything. The only way we’ve gotten any communication from them at all is registering this complaint. We didn’t agree to fix any other damage. They caused the damage. We would like our money refunded. We’ve also contacted the Attorney General , their response is unacceptable because they are not providing the truth. Let’s see a copy of the canceled check as well. I really don’t need to see it because it was never sent. I want my money back. I was taken advantage of by this company, and the fact that I paid him, cash was on me, but I didn’t expect to be taken advantage of. Company did not show up three days to work. They had been here one day when they caused all the problems and needed to get materials and never came back. This was after we gave them $2700 cash. I don’t really know what else to say as I stated in the first complaint everything that they did I am just following up and reiterating that fact I’m also disputing their response.

They have not tried to fix this situation at all. I have not heard a word from them, no refund no nothing
