I dropped off my motorcycle at Lincoln Powers sports to have several items in late OCT 2020. After i left they damaged the handlebar during the assessment and when I confronted the manager, they replaced the handle bar. The manager stated "someone would have to be fired". The bike took several months to complete. When I picked it up, It appeared ok, till i rode the bike about 300 miles, in which the front tire flattened. I took bike back to LPS and they refused service to repair the bike. Shortly after i left they called saying they would fix it, however I declined and took the bike to another vendor, who discovered that metal had been placed in the front tire, and had not punched through the tire. I believe this was placed in the tire by an employee who was angry over the situation.

The reason Mr. *****'s service was refused is because there were problems between Mr. ***** and Lincoln Power Sports where Mr. ***** blamed Lincoln Power Sports of bending the handlebars on his motorcycle.  When the unit was dropped off one of our guys looked over the bike and noted several cosmetic defects with the motorcycle, one of which included the master cylinder having damage on it, this could have been an indicator of the bike having been dropped.  When they pulled the motorcycle around, they noticed the bars were slightly bent and they noted it on the check in sheet after the customer had already left.  When Mr. ***** came back to go over everything, he insisted the bars were not bent, so Lincoln Power Sports replaced the bars at no charge, and all the other repairs including the tires were performed with the utmost professionalism.

When Mr. ***** brought his motorcycle back to have us fix the tire that had gone flat, my Service manager was not going to take it in and when he told Mr. ***** that it was because of the handlebar situation last time, Mr. ***** told him he didn't care, he just need the tire fixed and he also stated that the bars could have been bent when he bought the motorcycle, he didn't know.  After my Service Manager refused service completely, Mr. ***** proceeded to say that we bent his handlebars again.

After Mr. ***** had left, my Service Manager had called him to let him know that we would look at the tire and the tire only because it was something that we installed at that time Mr. ***** declined.  I can assure you that no metal was placed in Mr. *****’s front tire because there are no employees here who would cause a customer potential harm.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
LCPS failed to address the piece of metal placed inside the tire. The tire did not have a puncture for this large piece of metal, so the metal was in the tire upon installation. I have provided a copy of the receipt of the company who provided this service and they contact them to confirm this. If the metal was placed in the tire by accident or purposely, it is the responsible of LCPS to repair
LCPS also omitted several important items in their response.
I had made an appointment to have the tire repaired, coordinated time off from work, rented a trailer for the motorcycle and was removing the motorcycle from the trailer when they stated they refused service. I packed the motorcycle back up and left. They waited till I was at a different vendor to call me and say they would “look” at the tire only. I refused this service and when I received my motorcycle back, they informed me that the metal debris was not due to a road hazard. This raises my concern that this late offer to repair the tire, was to conceal the metal in the tire.
When I dropped my motorcycle in Oct 2020, I requested several items to be repaired. They stated that they would need a few days to a week to provide a quote and left the motorcycle after an extensive review where my handle bars were not bent, nor was any service related to the handle bars. When they called back several days later they attempted to say I requested the bar to be replaced (false) and that it was on the damage summary (also false). I immediately went to the dealership, proved that this was not requested or on the damage summary.
As with any motorcycle or vehicle that is over 17 years of age, and typical hazards of the roads, this motorcycle does have a few chips in the paint. However this motorcycle is well maintained, garage kept and has only 24k miles and is primarily a weekend ride. I am providing pictures of the motorcycle showing the condition it is maintained in as well as its overall condition.
It is LCPS responsibility to pay for the repair for this tire, as well as their work reviewed by a disinterested party of their work. In the immediate area, there is St. Charles Motorsports, Dave Mungenast motorsports or Chariots of Fire.

      Sincerely,

      ******** *****
